There is nothing on earth that is more rewarding than caring for, and being with, a person like Demar. I spent most of my working life in learning disability where the people I cared for had many needs and to the general public they were just nothing, they would cross the road to avoid seeing you or making eye contact. Then my grandson Joe came along in 2000 and he had cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I cared for him for the majority of his 9 years of life and we were totally in tune. I knew his likes and dislikes and how cheeky he could be. We had some real adventures together and he is missed every day. January 30th is the 12th anniversary of his death and a day I hate every year. Wishing the family all good wishes for 2022.x

No thanks, eternal life sounds dull and demanding.

It’s medical technology that keeps Demar alive, if what she’s experiencing is actually alive.

God bless this family. This mom right here 🥹 she’s the true definition of a MOM. I just love her outlook on life and her love for her kids. She really made me open my eyes a lot especially with the little boy with autism. My daughter who’s almost 3 was diagnosed when she was 18 months . The way the shes look at autism is just amazing. The way she cares for her daughter wow . This is one of the best documentaries I’ve watched in a long time .

Does Demar have any awareness of anything other-than pain and discomfort? I don’t mean any disrespect. I am really asking. If her brain is dead and she’s just a body being kept alive through medical technology, is this really the proper thing, and is it fair to force her to suffer this? The poor woman, and she is, technically, a woman. The care worker referred to her as “this poor little girl.” She is not a little girl. This is so sad! Would any of us want to live the way Demar is forced to live? I wouldn’t.
