Just gonna put this out here because one look at the comments and you would think Lando committed war crimes. Simply lovely was Max’s saying, however Lando has often said it (there are radios of it back even in his early racing years). They are also friends, and Max has said he didn’t mind that Lando said that. It was media and the Dutch fans who came after him. People in the comments are mentioning an interview with the quote “it’s not talent, it’s luck”. Again, misconstrued by media because apparently we all lack basic media literacy now. The comment, and full quote is in reference to an interviewer asking Lando about being able to change tires for free under a red flag, something Lando has always been critical of (dating back to interviews from 2021). However everyone chose to ignore this and take it as him saying Max’s win was lucky. He did not. Could he have phrased things better? Of course. But I don’t know another sport where you have cameras and microphones shoved in your face directly after you finish competing, no matter the circumstance. He’d just had his title hopes (however much they were real, I personally think media hyped it up because the hate got engagement and Max had it in the bag given his 7 wins at the beginning of the season and McLaren’s strategy team being, well, themselves) all but swept away to then have to answer a bunch of loaded questions thrown at you. I’d have a hard time thinking of how what I’m saying sounds too. The channel this video is from is awesome for the most part. He’s funny, and makes great videos. But he does often hate on Lando. As are the people in the comments here. Just trying to provide a little context as it frustrates me that most of the hate is built on an agenda and fictional character people claim he is. Concrete, constructive criticism is fine. But there’s gotta be a line when you’re commenting on someone’s character and making claims with no basis. This is so long, I apologize. Want to talk about pole to win ratio? Go for it. Though details such as the reoccurring glitches in the starts get lost because it doesn’t fit the narrative people want to see. Want to talk about performing under pressure? Sure. Want to talk about anything race craft related? Go for it! We’re all entitled to our own opinions. But man, I’m tired of seeing comment sections full of nonsense about misconstrued interview clips.

Also I think it's very important to say that something big emerged after Baku: in that race (that Piastri won because Leclerc's Ferrari couldn't actually overtake his Mclaren) and Monza, Mclaren was using a "mini DRS" that actually made them a lot faster on the straights (the exact reason why Ferrari couldn't catch them in the loooong straight of Baku), Nothing happened to them apart from the fact that they had to eliminate the mini DRS; considering that they won the Constructor Championship by 14 points to Ferrari I think that that's a HUGE shame.
