Watching this made me realise what I didn't like about my own bases when I used the base ready stuff. Couldn't put my finger on it until I realised I used black on the base as part of the painting of the whole model, it looks odd coming through the base ready stuff, such a small thing but I think it'll make a massive difference.

Oh man those classic slayer miniatures - so much character and by the time you got the the Daemon slayer he was a truly intimidating mini whereas the troll slayers just looked like trainee slayers. Great vid.

thanks for the video, it was really inspiring. at the end i followed a different process but it was inspired but this video, for example: - cutting the bases, that was the same and also adding a extra level with some foam. - then i didnt use mache paper, but i got some pieces of cloth with cast, the ones that they use when you get hurt. - then painted on top with a thick paste, i had 3 colors (gray, green, brown) - then add the grass, snow, etc. it worked great, my friends loved it, my little daughter helped me, it was like a family project.

Hi Luke, I love your channel. I stick the plaster rocks down with the modelling compound and it seems to work for me. I smear a thin layer of PVA onto the rock and where i am sticking it to ( just to strengthen the bond up a little ) then add thick layer of the modeling compound and slap the rock on.

Some model railroaders wet the back of the molded rocks with water. They then place it in the wet plaster or sculptimold. It sorta of bonds to it. Would your modeling compound work like that also? It could eliminate the epoxy step.

Where do you get your Kings of war base MDF from, looks pretty thick, more-so than the standard stuff i buy. You'd have to go thicker right with the wight? ... Also, do you have any plans to sell these in the future - or even just the mdf cut to size so we can all create our own? - Your videos give me great enthusiasm until i realize I'd have to paint an entirely new army :D

Hi Luke, as many times before I really like the subject and the way it turns out. Your timing is also right on spot as I am building a couple of boxes Mantic skeletons (infantry) to be placed on diorama-like multi bases. I do have a question that I would like to ask you (or other KoW players) before I go crazy on this: As I have never played Kings of War I am wondering how a troop (or regiment or horde...) is build up. Do I have to combine spearmen and swordmen or keep them on seperate multi bases or can I do whatever I like? This might be a bit off topic, but I love these mini diorama's and would like to create something beautiful AND playable :) Thanks!

if you still want the instant bond of hotglue with the strength of epoxy. rim the peice with epoxy leave a gap in the center and then put your hot glue here. it holds while the epoxy sets up and no shifting

Have to take into account the fact that if you make sure no bits are poking out of the perimeter of the base that they arnt really getting interfered with like a single model on a fitting base does. You don't pick up the regiment by the minis. You just grab the base
