Beautiful, man. Did this tutorial for something Im working on. Fire in AE has always been difficult for me to simulate, but this does a great job. I actually prefer the look of your last tutorial for more stylized fire, but this can easily be tooled for a similar effect. Thank you!!

seriously awesome tutorial, man. god, so many years of trying to achieve decent-looking fire with particular and all i needed was turbulent noise and displace this whole time.
@VisionaryFire
@VisionaryFire 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can actually create a very similar fire look with particular. Just create one of those fluid simulations I covered in another video here on the channel and from there, add texture with fractal noise and a few of the other adjustments like we made in this video and you can get a pretty sweet result! :)

I opened After Effects for the first time at 9AM, by 1PM I had a working flame FX for my trailer. I have a small working knowledge of Illustrator and Premiere, and a decent amount of Photoshop knowledge... but this was the first time I've ever used After Effects, and this tutorial was detailed enough to get me to where I wanted to be. Thank you!!

Another great tutorial. I greatly appreciate touching on the techniques for masking with older versions of After Effects (especially since there are a lot of us who still use CS6). Great tutorial, thanks!! Managed to follow along just fine and I definitely learnt a lot!! :D I want to overlay the flame on some other footage but if I remove the solid composite layer then it all goes to hell with the separation layer. Likewise changing the blending modes just ruins the effect. Any suggestions? Feel like I'm missing something obvious

Question. If you use an adj.layer with set matte, over the flame, and use the separation layer as mat, won't you get the effect you need, but without the solid layer? And with this you can have it as transparent, and everything bellow will show, while now you need the black background?
