So, I’m quite new to Way of the Hunter and I was wondering if you could explain or have already explained the aging cycle and how many days it takes in game for an aging cycle to happen?
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming6 ай бұрын
As far as I know no one truly knows the exact answer, but I have heard it is 45 mins a year and each animal has different aging cycles, for example a whitetails cycle is pretty quick (I am not certain the exact time) and a brown bear is very long upwards of 30-40 years. I think how it works is you go through 45 mins on one day then go to camp and sleep and it will move to the next cycle... now what I don't know is if all animals are linked in cycle meaning if a whitetail cycles over will a moose also cycle over at the same time. I believe someone you should check out for scientific information about that game would be Bumblewoot www.youtube.com/@bumblewoot He is heavily involved in that type of information. I just like to hunt 😁

I love these video games don’t get me wrong but actually getting up in the morning getting into the woods an hour or two before sunrise an actually being in the woods alone watching waiting and even going out in the summer to scout for deer will never compare to a game but with that said I still love playing these games

I'm pretty new to the game, when you say you have deer tagged at 1:50, what do you mean? Do you just mean you took a mental note of two bucks and one doe that you want to hunt, or is there an actual tagging feature you're referring to?
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming2 ай бұрын
Ah this type of video is what I call a story hunt, so I create a small story, for example in this one its I have tags to fill and a certain time frame to do it. No tag system in the game, just me creating some more realism to it.
@misterros942 ай бұрын
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming Gotcha, love it! Even though I'm new I think I'm going to restart on Ranger, I generally play all games on the hardest difficulty and I played a bit of Ranger in free hunt and thought it was really rewarding. I kinda live my life in Hunter Sense on Adventure, which is hard to avoid when the option is there. My only reservation with Ranger is that I would like to slowly build a cabin full of 5* trophies, and while some animals seem feasible on Ranger (deer for example can be culled by looking at visual fitness), other animals like small game seem kinda impossible to get 5* on Ranger. Any advice on that? I do suppose that plays into the realism of Ranger though, in real life you wouldn't know if the fox you just shot had perfect genetics lol.
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming2 ай бұрын
@misterros94 yeah I don't hunt small game that often, so it doesn't bother me much, the issue I have is with predators. I might try to swap difficulty for the ones that are impossible to tell and at least see what we have before swapping back to take one out.

So I play call of the wild have been for years and I've been on the fence about picking this one up. Anyone know of any differences better or worst ?
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming6 ай бұрын
So my issue with Call of the Wild is to get the best of the best you have to play a certain way, in Way of the Hunter you have options, you can just hunt and find 5*s (the best of the best) or you can herd manage to get them. Call of the Wild has more content because it has been out longer but it is also more arcade like and is a point and shoot type of game. Way of the Hunter can be that as well since there are easy modes, or you can step it up if you want a challenge and play in Ranger mode which is what I do and it limits your HUD, animals spook easier etc... I believe Way of the Hunter is a better hunting experience than Call of the WIld but in general you really just need to experience the game and decide for yourself.

so, this compared to Hunter call of the Wild?
@ObsessivelyCleanGaming6 ай бұрын
I like to look at it like this, Call of the Wild is like Call of Duty. Point and shoot, easy and more arcade like. Way of the Hunter is a bit more like ARMA, still easy but can be challenging if you want, and more realistic. One other thing I can't stand about Call of the Wild is to get a Great One (the best of the best) you have to play a certain way but with Way of the Hunter you can just randomly walk out into the woods and you have a chance to find a 5* (the best of the best) obviously if you herd manage you will increase those odds but I don't like being forced to play a certain way to get something. Overall CotW has more content since it has been out longer but I believe WotH is a better game if not now then for sure after more content is added. On a side note we will see how Ultimate Hunting holds up to both of these titles.

@ObsessivelyCleanGaming4 ай бұрын
Not necessarily, I have seen several now that were over 90% and full mature but didn't make above a 3 or 4. I tend to look at the weight and genetic %, for example if a 85% genetics is mature at 3 stars he could be a 5 depending on how mature he actually is so you can check the weight and determine if he was early mature or late mature, if he was early mature then he could have been a 5 star, if he was late mature then he was not going to make it.
