These woofers are so easy to refoam, Ive done more than 10 pairs of these

You are correct, the first pair of woofers I ever did were Mach 2 woofers and you could not even tell where the glue was after I was done.

Thank you for your video. It really helped me out with a pair of Mach Two speakers I just picked up.

woops! did mine backwards i guess. a buddy of mine was basically moving out of the state and was going to throw away these speakers so I threw them in the car and after about I think 10 years I finally got around actually fixing them. I think the midranges are okay I haven't actually had any problems with him but you know what yeah they sound pretty decent I think this summer I'm going to get around to fixing the two magnepans I own

I'm glad this is a recent vid! I just pulled the covers on mine (haven't used them in years) and the foam is cracked BAD!

Couple of questions. Does this glue dry clear? Can you use a damp cloth to wipe off the excess? It appears your woofer paper looks to have a tear or two in them ?

I'm in the process of refoaming my mach 2s that my parents bought for me new as my first speakers. My foams came from simply speakers and found that on the midrange that the gasket was really tight to the surround roll of the replacement. Curious if you encountered this situation.

If you look closely at the video, My complete kit was purchased from Myaudioaddiction on EBay. From what I do remember, No issues with the replacement for the mid ranges.

for the test tone playing music at low volume through the headphones - couldn't I just hook it up straight to my amp and just play at very low volume?
@danm31884 жыл бұрын
Yes, can just use regular speaker output from an amp / receiver. Just make sure to keep it low. I would suggest instead of playing music, just use your smartphone as the source to your amp and play a constant test tone. You can download a tone or frequency generator app and play a low tone, like 60 Hz for woofers. Higher tones for mids (500hz? 1khz?). Easier to hear changes in the tone due to rubbing rather than music that might vary from one moment to the next.

Where did you get the surrounds from and how good did they fit? I bought a couple off eBay and they both are different. Just like to get your opinion on what you bought. I'd rather use the right ones the first time around because I have several Mach Speakers I need to refoam
@stevelopes87834 жыл бұрын
Which brand did you get from ebay? I was thinking of getting some from Springfield speaker to do mine. I have 2 sets of these bad Larrys I've owned since the mid 80s

@@stevelopes8783 not sure if there is really a brand of surround. I'm just going buy who sells them. The seller that I bought from on eBay is User ID -geoaliwil

@@919hornet4me Right really no brands but there are several sellers on ebay that also have websites that sell speakers and other repair supplies. I'm trying to avoid getting the generic sized ones that people have issues with :)
