Great looming layout. As for Rapido, great looking display models, cause that's about all they're good for. I stick to my trusty Atlas locos. Very reliable engines. I own 3 GMD-1s from Rapido and all 3 are on their 2nd motors and two are on their 2nd decoders. Waayyyy overpriced for the lack of quality

sheesh what is it with rapido... i don't own any rapido equipment but came very close to buying one of their locos...but after seeing some folks on YT complaining about the shabby performance, i backed off... over the years the locos i've worked with have been atlas, athearn and kato... and to be honest, out of those 3, the KATO was the best... ran quiet, solid performer, and overall ran like a champ

Nice ops video! Who made the red Potash Corp Covered Hopper? All I 've been able to find are 55' versions. Your's looks to be a 47' version, which is what I need for my layout.

@@averagemo8487 Unfortunately, they are out of production at Atlas for several years. I checked with the Atlas "Archives" to get the model item # and did a Google search. Nothing available. Plenty of the 55" versions are on Ebay though.

4th motor failure in 4 years??!??!?!.... WOW... i'm at a loss for words really because they aren't shy about slapping a FAT price tag on their equipment... but yet they are performance FAILURES... a guy on YT said one of his friends got hoodwinked by rapido... he then bought a WALTHERS loco and now swears by their solid performance... i've heard others swear walthers performance is pretty good... although they do lack in the DETAILS DEPT
