Hello 👋 centipedes mainly live in your DRAINS . What I do keep my kitchen and bathroom sink with the stopper in them unless I'm using them. If you have drains in your basement floors especially the floor. Get some screens material and put Gorilla glue around them that way water can still flow if necessary. Blessings

We did the same thing 32 years ago moved from Southern California to the Blue Mountains in Oregon. The best thing we could have ever done for our family at that time, my twin boys were two years old and my daughter was 7 years old. We sold our house in California we're able to pay for our house in Oregon in full had no mortgage payment. We were off work for 6 months and then got jobs in the small town we live in. That was one of the most memorable seasons of our life. Just started watching your vlog really enjoy it.

Hi there! Your hutch is a perfect fit for that space. It's very charming. One thing I like to do is vacuum the corners and baseboards to help get rid of insects. We have a vacuum that uses bags and a hose attachment. You have to throw away the bag afterward in your outside trash. If you don't have baseboards or if some are missing, be sure to install baseboards. It was a good idea to call pest control because you have so many bugs at once. You guys are doing a great job. I'm glad you're having rest days to recharge. Have a good week!

Thank you! We deep cleaned this house, sealed up everything we could and we have pest control here weekly. Plus we bought new windows and siding. Haven’t seen a bug inside for a week or so

The reason I started watching you guys is I saw you was moving to Columbus but I love to see young black people who seemingly have things together at such a young age salute...and I dont dont think Columbus is as slow as you think

Thank you! We really appreciate the love! We live a little outside of Columbus . Our town and Columbus is much slower than what we’re use to so it’s been a blessing 😀

Have you thought about tenting the house and pest control can treat the entire home? Ask them about tenting and pest treatment. 40 years no pest control is gonna take time to get them under control. Then you can go every 2-3 months. But initially it's going to be back to back. A huge undertaking seeing they made their home there. All the best to you all❤

Great family channel!😊 Hope you noticed gap at bottom of basement door. You can see the light from outside coming end. When you have a lot of land bugs can come inside from any opening. Stay encouraged!♥️
@HourPointOfView6 ай бұрын
Thank you! And yes we noticed that and a TON of other gaps around the house. The garage door didn’t have weather stripping around it nor a garage seal on the bottom. Just gaps everywhere 😩

I love the cabinet it fits perfect and looks great. Unfortunately the problem with bugs, ants etc. happen a lot in the country you should get it under control now that you live in the house. I use a natural spray around windows and doorways and on the inside too. We have a farm house we don’t live in and of course the bugs are worse in that location.
@HourPointOfView5 ай бұрын
Thank you! This house sat for 20 plus years and there were gaps everywhere. Between door frames, window frames, baseboards, the garage didn’t have weatherstripping, the wood siding was damaged , etc. we’ve pretty much handled all that and it’s been a week or so since we’ve seen a bug inside. Sealing up the home is big. We even took vents off and sealed around the ducts and the wall

The “I am talking and you’re interrupting” is gentle parenting that I need to have instead of “please be quiet” with a slight annoyance lmao I will be using that line moving forward when I’m recording 😅 23:10 Gia was NOT feeling it 😂😂😂 her face had me cracking up. You probably had Asian lady beetle, when we first moved here we thought they were ladybugs as well. They are invasive, they come out beginning of spring when the weather starts to warm up. They like windows because they like the heat. Do you have a basement? I’m guessing that’s probably why you have silverfish. Centipede and spiders. They come when the weather is warm. I totally wish I had some good advice, but when I moved here, I had the same issues with the bugs, and the locals laughed at me, And told me welcome to the country life .I will say the chickens, and cats will help with the bug issues, but they will come in, especially if you have a raised house or a house with a basement.
@HourPointOfView6 ай бұрын
You're right. I just looked up an Asian lady beetle and they definitely looked more like that than a lady bug. And yes I have a basement. We definitely had ( and I say had because we haven't seen a silverfish in a while now) a silver fish problem and I know centipedes feed on silverfish. And I do realize they come with certain climate changes but the issue in our case is not the country or the basement but more about the fact that our house has literals holes on the exterior and interior of our house. Thats the reason we are getting new windows, reframing doors and new siding. Our neighbors say they never see centipedes or silver fish in their house. Also have to factor in that no one lived in this house for at least 2 decades, no maintenance no nothing. We literally taped off doors and caulked light fixtures and have seen a decrease. It's getting better slowly but surely. 🤞🏾🙏🏾
@nitahiltner33486 ай бұрын
OMG, I forgot about all the bugs like silverfish we had in Indiana. No bugs too much in CA except for ants. Yucky.
