I purchased this for the iPad and Windows. So far it’s great and really fun to use. Adding support for custom canvas size and the ability to export a psd would allow me to use this for professional work. The brush engine is amazing, though. Hello, I downloaded Realistic Paint Studio trial yesterday and I really like it. It's exactly the kind of thing I need right now as a digital software. Will buy it soon. I have some suggestions by the way : - can you put the brush names on the software, it's kind of hard to remember wich brush do what. I think to have their name could help. - I love the built in tutorial, can you do more of them ? They are very helpful to understand the brushs more. - I think it would be a good thing that you create a forum or another community space so that Realistic Paint Studio users can exchange tops, show their art and even exchange built in tutorial if a sharing function is on the pipeline. - Can you put the manual directly on the software ? - The brush marks really appear tiny when we are using bigger canvas even with the maximum size. Can you do something about it ? - I love the mixing palette but I have trouble using it. Can you do a tutorial video wich show how to use the oil and the watercolor color mixing ? - Will you continue to develop the software ? How ? Will there be more brush for exemple ? more canvas choice ? What are your plan with this software ? I hope Realistic Paint Studio will meet succes. It will be difficult since I personnally heard about it only last week. I know also that the software is quite niche but I really love it and I hope you will continue to develop it.

Wonderful program, especially now that we can set a custom canvas size! Would love if the brushes went much larger, to more quickly lay down a background for my subject. Also, I would love it if we could use all types of medium in one work. I paint in mixed media, and use pencil for my sketch, paint, and then very loose liquid paint or inks for drips. Would love to be able to do that in this program! When painting in OIL, it won't allow me to go to the watercolor brushes where the drips are.

I bought this program last night, VIP version. It has some performance issues: brushes lagging despite pc being strong enough to run the program seamlessly, program crashing on me twice, not friendly when it comes to being mixed with other programs like PS, CSP or Krita, no sensitivity changes and/or performance panel to customize the amount of RAM to be used by the program. But it has potential to be a good program. I hope they fix the issues with updates.

I am loving the software so far - checking on trial and I will be purchasing license for sure (as I did for Paintstorm). I am missing two things - not sure if I dont know how to do it or is it not implemented: - can I set resolution of exported image? - there really should be an option to place reference photo "on the table" next to the canvas. We can move around, rotate but there is massive, completely unused space outside of working area. PLEASE make placing reference pictures possible around the bit we are working on... So we have that illusion of placing photos next to sketchbook as oppose to having magical photos that disappear when dragged to the border of the page ;) That would really rock!

Wonderful program. Just a few quarks. Is there a way to not have the brush or tool smudge the texture of the canvas? I tried the trial, I really enjoyed the feel of the brushes but I did not love all of the skeuomorphism.. it's a shame because you guys really put a lot of effort into making it look and feel polished, but the UX feels like it was designed for children. No way to control brush settings, no way to turn off all of the distracting "simulated real world" stuff. To save my file I have to exit the painting (wtf). To save it as a png/jpeg I have to exit my painting and then click "export", where the bizarre "render on a fake CG background" button gets front-and-center attention. I'll be watching closely to see what improvements are made in this regard, I think it has a lot of promise but I can't justify buying it in its current state unfortunately, especially considering paintstorm seems to have languished recently.

I want to like this program so much, but it just does not work well at all on my 2-in-1 laptop! All the brushes and pens lag and skip constantly. Every stroke is delayed, slow, and jumpy. It's like the stabilization is turned up to max, but there's no way to change it. Also, no pen pressure. I even redownloaded the trial after I saw it updated a bit, but same problem... I won't buy until I know I can use this. My computer is the HP Elite X2 1012 G1
@kullenberg4 жыл бұрын
Downloaded the trial. Some nice blending effets but I can reproduce most the brush behavior in Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop. The brush engine uses the same old stamp based approach that has been used since the 90's so nothing new there. It's mostly the paper textures that are doing the heavy lifting and I'm sure it fools a lot of digital art novices, however you can get the exact same look with paper textures using various blending modes in other digital painting apps. The stabilization felt like it was cranked up way too high for most tools and I didn't find any options to dial it down. Overall the skeumorphic user interface seem like it was designed to impress non artists and children and most of the standard features you would expect in a digital painting package are missing. TLDR; a novelty app that doesn't bring anything new to the table

I see the potential and really like the concept of realistic color. But the interface is a bit distracting. I would love to have some toggle to make the interface minimalist and cleaner, like paintstorm studio. Yes, already known issue. We've fixed it in the nearest update! Now to use you need to set the tablet display as a primary and run the app from it. Also, you can move the fullscreen window to the second display by hotkey combination "shift+WIN+rightarrow", but the app window dimension will be inherited from 1st display. So, for example, if your primary display resolution 2560x1440 but secondary 1920x1080, temporally set primary to 1920, run Realistic, and then "shift+WIN+rightarrow" - this trick gives correct UI scale.

It's a very good program for sure, but sadly, doesn't work very well so far as a program to edit drawings. Per example, even having layers, you can't move around your layers, neither add "modes" to it (shade/shine, etc). You can't change the size of a drawing made in a layer, neither having many options of size for several brushes. It also doesn't work so well with tablet, because it doesn't have a good configuration related with the pressure of the pen. I hope they add new things in the future, because even being a good program, anyone here that already used it can see it's missing a lot of other options.

I really like this app.

Having spent some time with the full app on the mac I have to say so far I like what's been done. I own "a lot" of painting apps some pro some less pro and this is lacking that pro feel and ability to be used in a pipeline which I'm sure can be addressed in the future. The interface is clear and easy to understand although for me being visually impaired there could be improvements to make the interface easier to see like for example the changing of tool box could be easier and clearer. The photo renders are fun but limited now. I mean what was the wise idea of putting a massive shadow on your artwork using a canvas. This is unfortunate and doesn't show off your work as you'd like. I'm not sure if the photo renders ever change? Brushes feel responsive and I personally think it's great value for money. If you can afford to throw money at the big boys then go for it... but this is a great affordable alternative and is comparable to a certain other app beginning with R.

@@realisticpaintstudio481 This is why we love you guys. Great and accessible software made with love by artists. Own both of your apps, I'd love to see the brushes and color wheel from Realistic in Paintstorm, I'd be glad to pay again to have those features!. And aswell have the option to disable undo and layers in Realistic!!

Great brush engine, but that UI is not for me.

Interesting. I feel like this is trying to do a similar thing that ArtRage used to, before its slow and painful descent into mediocrity. Will give it a go for sure!

It’s okay, IMO. Brushes are limiting, I bought it for the iPad wouldn’t buy it again.

We want to be able to export as a standalone artwork, not mockups. Some of us are freelancers for goodness sake.

this is such a good tool... if only the ui was better... it looks so basic that it puts people off ...
