Yes, I agree those fancy pantry organizations look great but sometimes we have to use with what we can. I don't have an actual pantry, I use a regular upper cabinet with can goods we use quite a bit. Down in our cellar we have a huge metal shelving unit with our extra can goods, detergents, etc.....Your pantry looks great. Have an awesome day.

@@homemakingwithdenise I will just put it plainly Denise. You are a comfort to me, whether you’re just talking or if you’re cleaning or cooking. I lost my mom to cancer a couple of years ago, and I miss just sitting down and talking with her over tea or coffee. You bring some of that comfort back to me just by being yourself, no matter what you’re doing. I love your wisdom, and it seems like with every video I learn something. Be encouraged in what you do. You really are touching lives in a positive way. Thank you Denise!

From one retired nurse to another, that is an impressive surgical scar! You go girl! I am glad that you are moving along on your recovery road. I used to have a deep, narrow “pantry”. The best thing I ever did, was to change to roll-out shelves. They work beautifully and I can easily reach all of the items at the back of the shelf. Lifesaver!

My thoughts regarding my natural honey oak 1990s kitchen is dont paint! Wood will be back in style. I updated by changing the hardware, and maybe later, the counter or back splash. I've already been seeing it in many kitchens. We have only had our home 4 years. I struggle with my deep pantry. New sub, and thank you for the video

Hi Wendy. Welcome to the community. What video can I make for you? I must admit, the pantry is looking good but every night with my last minute tidy up I put everything back in place, that’s the only way it will stay that way. You’ve had both knees replaced? Hopefully that took care of the pain and any mobility issues. I’m working with physical therapy right now on mobility of this wrist postop. It’s doing well but still needs a bit of work.

TODAY! 😮 Frig duty took hours. That's what happens when you don't move the outside frig for many years. Yup, years. Although, I would vac the under coils yearly. Surprised the thing still works. I had to scrape & scrape the buildup on the cement. I also opened the back and vac'd the interior and vents. The water drain was plugged, so water was draining to interior bottom. I wiped the bottom & veg'y drawers. I also removed & unplugged the drain tube. I still need to wipe/clean the exterior, but I think I will do that on the 5th, appliance day. I have been trying to do this for sooooo looonnng. It feels good 😊 to finally check off the zone list ✅

@@homemakingwithdenise Clean coils will help the frig breathe and efficiently cool. It should help extend the life of frig because it works less to keep frig cool. This task is on my quarterly zone list, but hadn't been doing it. Need to get back to doing it consistently.

I had a really bad pantry moth infestation about a year ago. It was AWFUL! I had to throw away so many things. I'm excited to try the bay oil and bay leaves! I found that the moths I had were likely coming in from rice. Now I put the rice in my freezer. I also keep a pantry moth trap (like a triangle tent glue trap) in my pantry now.

I had pantry moths once and I had to throw out everything in a box. Now, I’ll put the rice into maker bags or glass jars. Beans I put in the freezer and then let them thaw and then into Kyler bags or glass jars. It’s annoying but we’ve got to do what needs doing. Food is to expensive to toss out.
