First time in Anneau du Rhin with Dunlop Sportsmart TT tyres. This was my second session in AdR and also with this tyres ever. I am impressed by the grip and threshold you get with this road legal tyre. In comparison to real race tyres it takes some more force to switch direction. Therefor it's very stable in lean angle. I really enjoyed to not take tyre warmers on and off for each session. If you are going to the track with your road bike and aren't super duper fast, the Dunlop Sportsmart TT is worth trying! Performance overall feels like 80% of the D212 GP Racer. Cheers! :D
@lennardspit6 жыл бұрын
You say 80%, but I reckon the lap time is only a couple of seconds longer compared to full blown race tires, correct? Then you're talking about 95% or something.

I had those on my bike when I got it, the best tyre for grip on the roads I've had so far.
@cante1993 жыл бұрын
hey Murtanio! first of all very compliments for your drive. I really like your style. I ve the same tyres on my bike and Im feeling great on track. Respect a d212 can you notice any differences about lean angles? or maybe the difference is only how many laps you can keep pushing on the tyres..? thanks mate

The bracket you have on top of your forks has sharp looking exposed corners that look like they might snag a knee or thigh if you get a tank slapper and come up out of your seat. Its probably fine but just wanted to point it out.

The fact that you don't need tyre warmers is a big selling point I think. Sure it would still be better with them but for someone who's looking into starting their track day addiction this seems like a fantastic first spend. Thanks Murtanio. And as always great riding.
@lennardspit6 жыл бұрын
I use them for track days and you really don't need the warmers. Depending on track temperature and rider skill, you can get them warmed within half a lap. Also they don't seem to suffer from heat cycles like real racing tires. Great tires.

Did 2 days this week on Assen with my new Sportsmart TT tyres on my 2008 zx6r and I must say that I really like them. The grip was great and light steering but stable. I have not ridden them in the rain yet so I so I am still curious about that.

What pressures were you running front & rear for this? I've used Metzler Sportec M7 RR's this season & am considering these Dunlop's for next season. But I suspect the Sportec is better in the wet than the Dunlop due to the limited syping on the Sportsmart?

Why do you place your right hand that way? Like you're not holding the throttle with the full palm, but only with part of it. Is it to keep your first two fingers more ready for braking?
@0991ekul6 жыл бұрын
you said it. quicker transition to braking and also rev matching.
@simonegiannini24216 жыл бұрын
@@0991ekul tried a couple of times while riding...but just doesn't fit me, I feel like having less control.
@0991ekul6 жыл бұрын
less steering control? turning the bike properly is done by pushing on the bar, so you aren't using your fingers at all. or shouldn't be using your fingers perhaps.
@simonegiannini24216 жыл бұрын
@@0991ekul sounds weird to explain...I just feel less "connected" with the bike if I assume this position, and I fear to lose my grip on the handlebars. Plus my right forearm gets tired quickly. I'm not nearly as fast as this guys, I'm approaching track days and maybe my riding style is still far away to be effective.

Two things: 1. Why can't get get a motorbike game that handles first person like this. 2. Late entry into a corner is best kept for corners coming onto a straight, as you gain a higher exit speed from the, so you can get higher top speed on the straight. However when you use it on corners where there are following corners, it will screw up your line for the following corners which happened in this video.
