I live in the Midwest in the US and our city has a street/neighborhood that has over-the-top Halloween decorations (my parents live on the actual street three blocks from my house.) As they are older I have been the Queen of Halloween for their house and one of our displays has been a pumpkin patch that has been growing for twenty plus years. So carving Styrofoam pumpkins is my secondary hobby to knitting (currently I have around 275). As the pumpkin queen I have been collecting mini-skeins of orange and green fingering and DK with the idea that I would, one day, eventually knit a pumpkin garland for my mantle at home that could be used all fall. Now I know why I never started it, after seeing how much more well constructed/structured your pumpkin pattern is I am finally willing to commit to knitting some pumpkins. Your video is amazing and incredibly helpful. Looking forward to finally casting on this long-term project.

I've just finished my first pumpkin and it looks beautiful! The video is very comprehensible and the pattern I bought on etsy is too. The fact that you have videos on the new (at least for me) stitches is also great. The only piece of criticism I've got for this project is, although you said in the video it's an easy one for people who've knitted a scarf or two, it was really difficult and frustrating for me (this is my third project). I had to restart it many times (I wouldn't be surprised if it were more than 30) and thought about abandoning it more than once. I'm happy and proud of being able to complete it, though, and I'm sure the new stitches I've learnt will be of service on future projects.

Absolutely love this pattern and will try it. I have knit a sheep before and enjoyed it so this will be a very fun project. While watching the video a question popped into into mind about picking. Would it be fair to say that picking is handy for knitting small projects? I tried it on my sock and it was too fast for my pace. My finished pumpkin looked more like bell pepper than an actual pumpkin xD i guess that's the color (I used dark yellow instead of orange cause that's all I had at the moment) or maybe i should've added more stuffing to it... but i still find it kinda cute though. Hi Norman! Great pumpkin! I was going to knit the easier version with sawing before I saw your pumpkin mk. Now I want yours! I came to the 23rd round and I’m stuck. There are 15 stitches on the needle. I K2tog, K5, Kll, Krl, K5 and there are 3 stitches remaining. I supposed to SSN but what to do with the last stitch? I’m stuck. Please help. Maybe you already answered this before. I just couldn’t find the answer. Could you please clarify? Thank you!

just take a look at the pattern. The stitch count is always written in parentheses. If you don't arrive at the exact same numbers you did something wrong :(

was watching this and is the KLL basically the same as KFB (knit once into front of loop, leave stitch on the left needle, knit once into back of loop, slip stitch off left needle.), with the only difference being that you slip the loop you knit into off the needle between knitting into it? or is there another difference between the two I'm not grasping?

These are sooo cute, but I don't own any DPNs. Is there maybe a magic loop version of this pattern? Because, one time, I tried to follow a DPN knitting pattern on a magic loop... and nearly died. 😅 It was so confusing!

S lot of people have finished it using magic loop. But there is no separate pattern and neither would there be any difference. It will be fiddly the first couple of rows but that's true for dpns as well. And the icords are a bit awkward with circulars.

Just a suggestion. It might be a good idea if you make a video knitting this pattern with larger needles for those of us that are visually impaired and then tell us to knit it with smaller needles. At 80 years of age i found the present video impossible to follow.

While I value your input and try to accommodate such requests as much as possible here on my channel, videos like these are always just a bonus to a pattern and never the main highlight. I merely recorded me knitting one sample in the suggested gauge. If I was to create an extra sample, etc, the pattern price would probably have to be double to make this even remotely financially viable.

Sounds like you have very old version of the pattern from back when it was free. I updated the pattern last year, recorded the video, more pictures, etc and put it in my shop. That prbably explains it.
