Realistic PZM mod for DSLRs

Awesome! Those old PZM / boundary mics can sound pretty good. The Realistic actually sounds very respectable. I've only played with the old EV ones (as overheads) and they held up although sounded a bit odd in a stereo config. (I got a Rode NT4 for an overhead soon after) Great mod. Great kitchen vibe!

Thanks for the interessting video again. Is it possible to combine this second - and more simple - modification of the capsule with the xlr P48 modification of the batterybox as you suggested in the your other video? And would it be intersting a) to replace the plastic battery box with a full small metal box with female 3,5 mm mini-jack and the modiufied original print plate and xlr cable? b) to remove the switch? The switch is a weak point in the original construction.

Both points could be interesting. After the phantom power mod, you don’t really need the switch. A metal case would help with shielding.
