Thank you so much for this. My longhaired kitty does NOT like sanitary trims and sprays analglandfluid when in distress so it's always a mess and he ends up smelling worse than he did with poop stuck in his fur for a few days. He also never screams or talks unless in distress, and all the videos of calm cats had me feeling even worse, bit you gave me enough feeling of solidarity, that I wasn't alone in having to do this FOR my cat even though he fought me every step of the way. I relate to the feeling of hopelessness, you're not alone. Kitty has forgiven me after 5 hours, lots of treats thrown under the bed, and some sausage. Bathroom recieved a deep clean.

I’m about to attempt this for the first time on long hair baby boy. 😂 he’s 1.5, so this is his first full winter coat… on top of having down like fur😅 I’ve had to burrito cats in the past, but haven’t shaved one before. This was genuinely so helpful and refreshing to see. Thank you for also showing the emotional aspects as the owner. It’s hard to sit there and wrangle any animal while they protest. It is for their health and safety after all :)

I love your video. It was real and showed you in a lovely manner towards your baby’s. I use to get my Macon cat shaved all the time and all until I realized how cruel it actually was. He came back so injured and cute up that I said NEVER AGAIN. I watched you video to learn so I can clip my boy myself. I know no matter how long it takes me I won’t be harming him. You taught me how to do the tail between the legs and that’s a great way for this area. I see it’s about getting down the towel process accurately first. The it should be easy. Thanks so much for this. I can see a lot is sighing in my future too. Lol. Have a Siberian older kitten and she actually did great when I trimmed her buns with shears but wasn’t excited when I took out the trimmer. I had forgotten about the towel trick and I think it would help to have the hubby hold the cat while I do the shaving. And you are right this is way more realistic than the robot cats that lay there. ;)

We got her a face mask, burrito her up and trim that kitty's, kitty! She's easier to handle with the mask and we don't have to worry about her biting. That’s hilarious!! I have 2 ragdolls too. One patiently lets me groom him because he’s smart and knows and appreciates what I’m doing. My other ragdoll who is like Coupon THINKS I’M KILLING HIM! I use scissors and am successful with the wild one is sleeping on my lap. It still takes several attempts to get it done. 🥰

LOL.....Loved it. I just got a new kitty and he wouldn't let me get the matts out. I ended up having to take him to the Vet. The Vet suggested that I try a sedative 2 hrs. before I attempt that kind of thing. I heard CBD Oil is good. Watching your attempt to help your cat gave me some comfort of not being alone. Thankyou so much for this video. I rescued a kitten from cats protection (uk) - they told me he was a domestic shorthair - WRONG!! He has very long fur and the whole ‘getting poop stuck on bottom fur’ is very new to me 😭 (my first cats were short-haired). He absolutely hates me holding him in anyway that implies he’s about to get cleaned up. He’s turning into a full-time job with the grooming and trimming. Luckily he is my little star 🌟

HELPFUL TIP: Cover their eyes in the burrito. When cats can’t see they are calmed but they also don’t like to move because they can’t see and they know that were they are is at least ok, they won’t fall or anything. Also maybe try holding their scruff instead of their arms? Idk this one might totally be a bad idk but I know some cats won’t even more their arms when they are scruffed. So you could towel burrito, scruff, and do the rest the same and that might work better too. Every cat is different so we all just have to try to figure out what works best

I love you, you are fantastic....I have six cats, all are rescued and belong to the same family. I can totally relate to you. three of my cats are long haired.... and I procrastinate when I know that they are developing these little furry mats on their bodies....two minute sessions are about all I can manage at this time..even with treats. I just hate fighting with them or stressing them out in any way, and I know that they will hate me for the rest of their lives. I get so stressed. I have to one cat taken to have her tummy shaved, and I swore to her that I would never take her a groomer again. Not the groomer was not a good one, but I do not know who was the more stressed, me or her. Every morning I wake up and have all these good intentions about grooming them, but my lunch time I am losing the will to live, and rather than look death in the eye by trying to groom them,.....sigh...... I let another day go by. Yes I do a lot of sighing as well. I have the same razor from Amazon as you have, and it seems to work well, I am so afraid of cutting them though . I use the burrito wrap as well, even though I never seem to get it snug enough. I have a partner that will help me out, and feeds the front end treats while I put my arm around them, facing the rear end then while they are standing and gently supported so they cannot sit..... can at least do a partial shave, before they explode. You are doing a great job, you cats are just beautiful. do not doubt yourself you are truly brave. I feel that If I learn to do it well at home...then I do not have to go to the groomers.
