As someone who eats avocados as a whole food group on their own I found that they’re ripe not when they’re soft at the top, but when they give slightly when you press the mid-lower part. Almost like a soft grape. The skin would also be a deep green/reddish purple. Another thing for storing avocado halves, place them in a container and fill halfway (to cover the exposed part of the avocado) with water. It’ll be slightly less firm, but still green and delicious. if you want to ripen your avocado, you can put it with your rice on its container. just put it on top of the rice. it will be ripe in a couple of days. just check it regularly. because it really does get ripe real quick.

Here’s a tip I find works most times. When cutting onions put a bowl of water (1 to 2 cups) next to the chopping board - the trick is to put it to the side closest to where you are chopping the onion itself. I then use the water on my indoor plants so it doesn’t go to waste. Applecado

I found out a trick for onion fumes. The fumes go to the first source of water available and that happens to be your eyes so keeping a cup of water nearby will lesson or completely get rid of the tears!

Annika, I love your videos! i always watch them and make sure Im all caught up on them, which is why im watching this one two weeks behind,,, aha. I used to always cry when I cut onions, and I try to keep a wet paper towel in a bowl to prevent myself from crying! The 'fumes' of the onion is actually a chemical, and the chemical is attracted to anything wet to bind to. So, if it has something wet that's closer to bind to, then it should lessen the impact of the onions! If that doesnt work, try putting the onion in the fridge or freezer! If you see this, I hope it helps! Enjoy all the applecados :)

Hey! Neem is nasty tbh and not super effective. For gnats I recommend mosquito bits and yellow sticky traps for current issues (fly strips if it's bad bad) and then for long term maintenance either systemic granules or liquid like sns209 which is what I add to my water every time I water!
