Iam from Perth born & bred. My wife is from Kent region in the UK. She came here some 20yrs ago on an adventure met me and the rest is history (married kids etc) and she considers we live in paradise. This year we did a trip back to the UK for a wedding and then trained up to Harrogate in Yorkshire to visit cousins & tripped around London sightseeing. Then we spent a month on the Euro-rail tripping around a fair chunk of Europe. It was nice as a tourist seeing all the history etc but noticed how expensive everything has become in both the UK & Europe post the pandemic. When we got back home we will never complain about living costs here even in Perth as Europe is worse in every way (unless you want to live remote in small Greek village) and it also made us realise just how clean our home environment is and our wide open spaces and beaches are the best in the world for sure without being crowded/swamped by tourists like it is in Europe which is just too busy and too crowded. Forget UK where everyone lives in small cramped terrace houses with no garage to park their cars. We live close to Hillary's and have a large double garage + a large workshop with a car hoist, parking for the 18ft caravan, and a trailer, sons BMW & a double driveway that can feasily fit 6 x visitors cars. We have a large hse with a pool all fully paid for from the high wages you can earn in Aust . You would have to be filthy rich to have that same lifestyle back in the UK

I am an English Kiwi born in NZ brought up in the U.K. My wife is from Philippines and we live on a tropical island in the Philippines. We adopted and rescued puppies in 2021 and 2022. So we are kind of stuck here for now as we won’t leave our pets and move somewhere else. Anyhow I took my wife on her first trip to NZ and Oz. We stayed in Coolangatta in Gold Coast we loved it there. We also did Sydney and Auckland. I have lived in Auckland and Sydney b4 and we be in Auckland in February for a holiday.

Hi Sam! That sounds like a wonderful way to spend your life, rescuing puppies on a tropical island?! Sign us up!! Do you have an organisation or is it just a family thing??

@ Its just in most Asian countries there are loads of stray dogs and cats. We went a bit over board. with 10 pets either adopting or rescuing them. They are part of our family now. Unfortunately that means we are a bit stuck on the island. But we will keep them all now. We have no plans to adopt anymore pets and when they all pass away we will definitely not get any more pets. So we are not restricted with how long we can leave the island for.
