Wow, I’ve watched your videos from the beginning and you two have come so far! I mean that figuratively as sailors but also literally too. The fact that you’ve done it on a very basic boat should be inspiring to many and leave wannabes with no excuses. Good for you! Congratulations and keep having fun.

I may have missed it, I know you are now 1 or 2 seasons further along, but I would love to see more detail on your navigation tools and techniques. From what I see so far, it looks like you are dead reckoning - compass heading and time tracking only. I doubt that's the case. I also know you do get an auto pilot somewhere around episode 130 - good move. Love the videos - I'm assuming that since you spent some time as wedding videographers, your video expertise (including editing) is beyond what most voyagers would bring on day one. Nice to spend time with you.
@Kavack5 жыл бұрын
Well the good news is you are learning about the things that are important to cruise. Dodgers, auto pilot/hydrovane, roller furlers .... all have a place to keep everyone safe, happy and dry. 😎. Do you need them? Nope....but it’s a much happier crew who does.

Great video more oona please Also I think you should use the claw kicking strap on your boom further aft and with more dawn haul you would be able to sail closer to the wind and get better sail shape
@BeauAndBrandy5 жыл бұрын
More votes for oona :) keep em coming guys, she is thinking about it. she has a couple of demands and then we may be able to get to her to do it. :D Any chance you have more information on the claw kicking strap. We can't seem to find anything on how to properly use one, that is why you see us not using it.
@kevinharley89205 жыл бұрын
@@BeauAndBrandy That kind of system has fallen out of favour over time so not much info on how to use them on line. I had a similar set up when I was younger and dinosaurs roamed the earth, I always found it to be a good compromise for vang control with the roller boom reefing the problem is wear and chafe on the sail where the claw down hauls the boom I used bits of rag as sacrificial pads not very pretty but better than damage to the mainsail. It's all much more of a faf than slab or In mast but I'm a great believer in sail with what you got.Hope that helps to inspire some experimenting with it

A total overview of the electric system as it stands now, what you'd like to change, if you could start over what lessons did you learn, what's been the best thing you changed so far?
