That performance outfit was everything. What right did a man of his age have to look that good? It made me blush to see him in that suit. Such class, oh my god.

What bearing, what elegance, what a quick and agile pace. It's not for everyone, not by all those no longer young; yet David looks like a boy, the eternal Peter Pan of rock wave..Always ready to joke and entertain the audience, for example with the scene of gloves to take off before playing the guitar. David forever! God bless us. Paola, Roma, Italia

He was always a kid at heart. I always saw him as a beautiful boy. Sometimes a very serious one, which was just a front to protect this very vulnerable inner core of him......

Every time I hear David laughing I can't help smile my biggest smile! Actually, I can't help but smile my biggest smile whenever I just SEE him!

I can see why BD didn't tour apart from the Heart problems, living in and out of hotels, travelling , rehearsals, remembering every song , every word, relying on the band getting it right as well as himself. You can't blame him after touring for 40 old years plus being away from home. I'm sure he enjoyed being with his family in his final years, RIP David , you will be truly missed !

Nicely put! I was going to say something along the same lines but you expressed it better. I'm sure you are right, after marrying and having his little girl, I think he probably did enjoy his last 16 years, probably better than any other time in his life. He had a great relationship with Duncan too. I think he deserved the happiness that marriage to Iman brought and I am so pleased for him because before then (apart from Duncan) he seemed really insular. He changed all our lives and made us all happy so I (obviously I wish he'd lived til a ripe old age) think that going at the happiest moments of your life is bittersweet but better than dying sad and old and alone. I hope his family are ok because he was a really nice person as well as his Personas. I like many people feel like something akin to a limb has been removed. .He woke me up with Starman in 1972 and probably influenced most aspects of my life and personality. It's almost like losing a family member. R.I.P. David Robert Jones xxx

Me too, i was at Wellington. I had nowhere to stay, all booked out. I lived on the streets for 2 nights in a storm the last night, it was a bad scenario. First time i ever saw David performing with a hoodie on.

From stagehands to musicians you have to envy the priceless memories locked in the heads of those that toured with him. Always found myself wondering what it would be like to hangout for a day with the guy. Thanks to uploads like these I no longer have to imagine. I can see it would have been fanfreakingtastic!

You are right! Earl Slick said in an interview the happiest days of his life were all of the times he toured with David Bowie.
@chellie57967 жыл бұрын
If you have seen Bowie the Last 5 years, in an interview with his band Earl Slick that he had never seen Bowie happier and more active than he was on this tour. Gail Dorsey said that his heart attack was misdiagnosed that at one concert he couldn't sing and she thought when they took him to the hospital they would give him a shot and he would be OK... but the next thing they heard was that they were going home and nobody heard from him not very often by emails. Tony Visconti said that David told him that he was tired..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Duncan Jones make this documentary film? If this is so, isn't it nice to think that when DB talks to camera, it's actually to his son?

No, Duncan made film about David's concert in Roseland 2000...:)

What's Baby Grace Blue doing at the end of the video? I really think it's the umpteenth, irresistible, hilarious joke of David ...
@michaelodowd48074 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.. I love David bowie but I would hated to have been in his band ..having to laugh at every joke and stay on his good side ..Maybe it wasn't like that ..just how it comes across.
@ThinWhiteAxe4 жыл бұрын
He was a hard taskmaker, but he also picked people to do what they do, and would just let them do it. He had no qualms about moving on either. I don't think you necessarily had to stay on his good side like that, here they all seem to be pals. Of course he was probably a lot better at this time than when he was younger and more messed up
@madgemuso73143 жыл бұрын
@@ThinWhiteAxe I agree. 99% of the musicians he worked with, he worked with for many years and they pretty much had only good things to say about his humour, vision, kindness and generosity and some of them such as Carlos and Tony Visconti (bar a brief falling out at one point) eventually became his closest friends. They went through all his ups and downs yet largely all stayed friends. He was a perfectionist but also according to interviews I’ve read with his colleagues always make sure everyone was comfortable and had everything they needed to ensure a pleasant atmosphere in the studio.
