I love reading your books because the characters are so great! Jules, Sloan, and Annie are all people I would like to know for real. The way you share their stories are so intriguing that I can't put the books down! I really feel like I'm walking in Ashland, or having a brew in Leavenworth. I'm jealous of the Secret Bookcase! I'd like to have my own bookstore. Thank you for making these strong women a part of my life. I will read them as long as you write them.❤

I am glad you discussed this topic; I wondered about this being a new indie author. And I'm so happy to hear your advice as a seasoned writer. It is what I have been going through as well. I try to focus on one book series at a time. Write that. Then take a break and work on the book on the other series, then switch back as you said. I think it's good to tell people this, and it's nice to hear from someone who has been doing this for a while that what I've been doing is a good path to writing multiple series.

Yes, I think writing multiple series naturally forces us to take a break and get some distance. Keep at it!

What I love about all of your series is the incredible world building that you do. I think the combination of the worlds you create and the characters who seem like friends is what keeps me coming back to series. To Kill A Mockingbird is a complete story. I feel like Harper Lee got across what she wanted to say. I don't feel the need to revisit the characters in another book. Which is one of the reasons I didn't readl Go Set A Watchman.

As a nonwriter but also someone who juggles for work, this made my head spin 😂 Bless you both for making it work lol

LOL! Sometimes my head spins too, especially if copyedits or page proofs come in at the same time.

As far as when is a series enough, I would say when the author feels like the characters are in a good place. There are definitely many series that I was disappointed ended after 2, 3, or 5 books. There was only one long running series that I grew weary of reading and gave up on. There have been 2 series that I felt the quality diminished and it would have been better if they had ended sooner. But in both cases I think the age and health of the writers was a factor. I think if the author has reached a point where she is happy with where the characters are and feels ready to end a series, then that is the right decision, even if readers are asking for more.
