It's these types of videos that remind me of how great Doctor Who really is, and how even the ones we believe are great are good, still had their downs, but in the end, fear of the new, and fear of not being able to live up to the past, and most of all fear of endings makes companions of all fans, of every single franchise, myth, legend, tale and story ever told.

absolutely amazing. You really bring forth all the pain and frustration of the doctor and show his darker self but highlight it so well with the amazing people he surrounds himself with. Ending it with all the happy times he had with his friends and really showcasing what doctor who is all about. The people make the show. Brilliant job man, keep it up!

It's great to see this again. Probably the most emotionally impactful few minutes of Doctor Who compilation I have still seen. Doctors 9, 10, 11 and 12 were for me an awesome run of the Doctors. A run I doubt will ever be matched again. As a grouping there was so much breadth and ongoing depth to the character making him me adorable. The intense love of 9, the human love of 10 the childlike love and positivity of 11 trying to cope with his love through humour and the incredible powerful love of 12 where it reach the heights of intensity and even baggage. I admire Jodie as an actress but watching this right now makes me realise just how lacking the Chibnall run was on an emotional level and though stories had romantic threads this power of emotion that ran through these four Doctors ended with Capaldi. A golden age for the new era which lasted through four reincarnations. This tribute is so powerful that watching it almost breaks your heart. The creator of this montage has captured one of the most important and prominent parts of DW, love and care for others. Star Wars (which I quite enjoy) can have it's dark and positive sides of the 'force') but I'd rather have the 'love' of the Doctor and his companions any day. This is what separates DW from other sci-fi series. It may be about an alien who travels through time and space, who has fantastic adventures and yet it is so much more. First and foremost this is about a being who carries the deepest affection and care for his friends. His his two hearts may give him much more than we may have first assumed!

This truly shows no matter how the doctor goes to the dark side he has his companions to bring him back to light and tell him to the stop and to remind him there is nothing wrong with being afraid 😞

" There is no happy ever after. It's a lie we tell ourselves because the truth is so hard". Truth. For me, it reminds how many really great lines Clara got while she was there, and how well Jenna delivered them. That's what's missing from the current show: the simple love, the caring for each other that prior Doctors and their companions had. Jodie's Doctor seems more distant from 'the fam'; maybe just a reflection of these times, I guess.

The Doctor, The Doctor was a symbol, fictional yes but the stories were so much more then just stories, and where written so well you didn't really notice the political themes that would pop up in the, but the doctor, the character was a symbol a being willing to do what ever it took to do the right thing and save as many lives as possible, yes the doctor is not perfect, yes the doctor has slipped, but that's what makes the character so relatable. Honestly fighting time and again always trying to be one step ahead of those that wish to do harm yet still willing to surrender when your only option also means the death of billions, now that's a hero. Since 2005 five we have see the doctor's greatest points, and we have seen the furry of a time lord. We celebrated the triumphs and teared up as the doctor had to say good bye ether to good friends, or due to regeneration. (Turns to the writer of season 12 and jodie) I know Jodie can one day be a good Doctor I've seen her acting chops and I truly believe she could pull off the role some day, but the problem with season 12 is a combination of the directions, and the writing. I'm sorry season 12 just felt like a bad fan fiction, also (walks up to writer with a copy of the timeless child.) You should never go again a series bibble, (*WAP!*) (turns away from writer now knocked out on floor after getting hit with script) when a series is older than you, you're not aloud to go back and rip out its roots, unless it's a reboot and not cannon to the original series. As for music it's one of the most pivotal parts in modern story telling it enhances the emotion on the scene, unfortunately season 12 music still needs work to even hold a candle to its past few seasons. When it's all over I hope they get a damp good writer in that can undue all of season 12.

@shirley344 жыл бұрын
So sad, it shows how the doctor truly feels, he’s been through so much through time & he always walks away with a smile & no appreciation, although deep down he’s breaking & soon he will erupt like a volcano, that is when he needs his companions the most at his time of sadness when he feels he can’t go on no more, although he does

This is when Who was the who i fell in love with back in 2005. Where it was all about, right and wrong, story, emotion. I really think an important part of who that was often overlooked was murray golds fantastic score. Flawless everytime. Always hightened the sense of emotion. Need i mention Doomsday or The Madjestic tale of a mad man in a box? and what we have now is just bloody dreadful it's just a series of dings and dongs with high pitched tones. Nothing special or memorable about it. Genuinely sounds like something i could make in garage band. The only decent bit is the new title theme. I miss all of it. The organic story telling that much like series 11 and 12 did have a political story to tell. But it was often done so well and flowed so well that it always thit into the theme of the epsiode and was often more about the doctors morale code that just putting it there to check a box and then proceeding to do nothing with the pottential story that the political arc could serve. I really think Jodie has the capability of being a fantastic doctor. I've seen her act and she is amazing. I've seen Chris Chibnall create fantastic stories like broadchurch. However what we have now in my opinion is not who. It just constant politcal almost propaganda for the sake of checking a box. Of series 11 i cannot remeber any of the alines names or species except tim shaw. Thats because none of the actual 'story' content of sereis 11 and some of season 12 was implemented in a way that was memorable or significant. Nedd i mention the absoloute car crash the end of season 12 was with the timeless child. Why did Chibbers think absoloutely destroying the cannon that Moffat and Davis created over the course of 12 years was a great idea. The doctor never needed to be anything unique in the lore. She/he was just another timeloard that did things differently went against the curve. Led with emotion, right and wrong an morales. That what made the charecter special. I also think Sacha Dawan could be a fantastic master. Providing he is given a decent scrip and not just there to deliver exposition. I could go on forever about how thinly veiled and poorly written Chibbers stories are but that wont change anything. Rasnt over. overall seing fantastic work like this makes me so happy but so sad at the same time.

TLDR all of it, however I completely agree with your third paragraph. A lot of quotas and boxes ticked but i gues that’s what they have to do these days
@XiscoLozdob4 жыл бұрын
I don't see it as any more political than, say, the Third Doctor's run, perhaps even less so. And the incredible Timeless Child arc is only building on what the modern series and, arguably, the classic one has told us about who the Doctor is: scared and alone. That's why they take travelling companions. Because they've always felt alone. And, ultimately, they are, since the companions have to leave. I think it's a really interesting piece of character exploration (13 also has hints of the manipulative 7 and 11 hiding his true emotions) and addition to the lore. Also, I can't help but feel Series 9 and 12 are perfect companions, they complement each other so well.
@johnfriedgen3574 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard this a lot but how has the Timeless child broken lore? I think it’s just an evolution of what was already laid. Hell, she/he’s been called immortal more times than I can count
@kittensareawesome27894 жыл бұрын
Tj Friedgen Personally, I feel like it undermines Hartnell’s role as the ‘First Doctor’, and being immortal in the eyes of other species, because in essence Time Lords have probably 24000 years lifespan on average, doesn’t make them actually immortal. Plus, while I’d like to think the Doctor is unique as a Time Lord I’m breaking the mold, it feels unnecessary to make them that sort of being. I can live with it, doesn’t mean I like it.
@johnfriedgen3574 жыл бұрын
Trip Katt16 But it doesn’t undermine anything. Hartnell is still the first doctor that we’ve ever seen. The character hasn’t changed as the core of the Doctor is still the love able and mythic hero. If anything it makes why he never fit in with Gallifrey or his people makes more sense. His need to not be alone makes sense if he’s a castaway from some forgotten world. I just don’t see how it damages literally anything. He can still die or choose not to regenerate it’s just now they don’t need to have Galifrey come in like deus ex machina to give him more lives.

Doctor Who is a metaphor for the journey of your soul through time. In a sense we are all time travelers. We take on a body and a lesson or purpose. We love, hate, sometimes mate and then we move on to another lesson. We understand that there will be pain but we crave the experience. We choose. The eternity of chance and fate. Ultimately here to learn to love, accept and forgive ourselves and others. 💜
