I very very rarely think a cover is as good as the original, HOWEVER, in this case the Chordettes could not have done this song any better than these four young ladies did, AWESOME job.

Couldn't agree more; my favorite pop tune from the fifties. However, one thing's missing - on the reprise of "please turn on your magic beam" - missing is the "mmmwaaa". Otherwise, outstanding. Next time, try some Andrews sisters.

Awesome! Carries me back to 1954, a 19 year old soldier and my first time away from home in Germany for three years. I was a big fan of the Arthur Godfrey Show and the Chordettes were featured. Thank you so much for the memory. Your 86 year old fan in Florida.

Sarge - Hawiya, Hwiya Hawiya! I really miss that red haired cigar chomping scoundrel. I was 6 at the time and remember hearing tthe Chordettes on AM radio. Loved the song then and still love it today. F&F did a fine job with the cover. (As did Chet Atkins).

Dearest foxes and fossils, I am of Fossil age(55) and love every single thing you all do. My mom passed away 3 days ago and we laid her to rest today. in mourning and feeling down, I came to your page and this brightened my spirits. and lifted me out of the gut wrenching pain of mourning my loss . so thank you. You may or may not realize the impact you all are having on your fans but please dont ever stop.... Just listened to their newest release, Mr. Sandman. For anyone who wants to listen to real harmonies and great band, this is the benchmark for all others. When I think about all the junk music that's being listened to, it pales in comparison to this music video and all your others. Telling Me Lies is one of the best things I have ever heard. Yes they are great...there are 2 more cover bands just like them that do the songs they cover just as well...Check into The REO Boys and The Lexington Lab Band...these 2 bands and Foxes and Fossils sure make the music sound great!

You said it. Who did this song orignally? The Chordettes, I think? Their version was good. This version is so good that you can't even said "it's off the charts." It's more like they reach heights so high that if someone asked you where you'd place it on the chart or scale of quality you'd say "chart? What chart?" This version is in a realm of its own!

I accidently listened this song back in 90s, as a kid, in rural China. In fact I didn't know what are they singing about because I knew no English back then. I can't even remember why or where I listened it. But the melody and chords are so catchy and beautiful, It took roots in my head, so I never forgot this song. I tried many times in my youth to find this song but yield no results. suddenly, today I got THIS! Your cover is even better than original, better than the beautiful song in my memory. Thank you, you are great musicians😀
