It's a pure bless that we're living in the time where we have an internet. I just can't imagine studying English in old school way - sitting in stuffy classroom with a bunch of dull and boring textbooks. With channels like yours learning English becomes much more fun and amusing, which is getting more greater resuilts than just reading some books and forcing yourself to learn by heart tedious rules. Thank you for your job!

There's a flipside to that coin though, by necessity we were forced to step outside and find real people to talk to in order to practice in real time as opposed to today where people live in this delusion that just by watching videos online you cut corners and don't need anything else, real-time experience OUTSIDE of your comfort zone is the real deal and there's no substitute for it, don't get me wrong, the internet, technology and all of that is great but just like this video implies, you need to feel it by living it though, Peace ✌️

I totally agree with you. It was boring at school. Personally, I went through that path too, and i spent about more than 12 years at dull textbooks, and when it came to the first conversation with native English speaker I seemed not to be able to understand even a word. Now it's getting better, thanks for the internet, thanks for Real life English, they make the entire English learning process much more easier

What do u think if u are leaning a different laguage and you think that attending a class at school is the best way to improve ur speaking skill or other skills? English is my 4th langiage Hmong Thai Lao English I started to learn Eng when my age turned 22 already and disqualified at high school but ESL and it took me for real only 4 years there, then I quit. Ive been a homebody around 10 years already, so Im afraid tat to improve speaking is kind of late. I relized tat one teacher told me that the best way to improve speaking is to ... 1. make friends with native speakers 2. Watch vdo or tv with native speakers 3. Keep listening native speakers and repeat after them exactly what they said 4. Do it every single day with 2 hr per day

Hi there! Thanks a bunch for mentioning my comment. I am very honored actually. The whole video was super duper as usual, and te icing on the cake was to hear my name. No need to say that this video is kinda special for me. To think about what you wanted to be instead of your goal help to enjoy this experience of learning a language. This video nurtured not only my mindset but also the one of a bazillion of students! Hey guys don't hesitate to leave your comment!

Let me start by saying that I´m not used to commenting on videos I watch, but this one was so good to watch that I couldn´t leave without saying a word. I´m an intermediate student and I´m currently struggling to leave the intermediate platô behind. I´ve been trying different strategies but until now nothing worked. And after listening to this podcast I finally understand why. It´s because I´m studying the language, but I´m not using it. I set a goal to learn 25 new words every day, I write down sentences with some of these words and do some grammar exercises. But I don´t go over these words and the grammar because I think that once you learn it, it´s learned and you can´t forget anymore. And when it comes the time to speak I can´t remember a quarter of these words. Lately, I started watching series with English subtitles but sometimes this lets me down because one day I understand almost everything that is being said and on the other day I understand almost nothing. Sometimes I don´t have enough time to study and I just give up studying cause I don´t think 5 minutes would make a great difference in my life. This situation can continue for days until I finally find time to study for 1 or 2 hours. Now I see that these little moments matter and I shouldn´t underestimate them. I need to find more activities to do in English to bring English to my daily life and start living it. But my principal difficulty is with speaking skill. I have no one to practice English with me and talking to myself all the time is quite annoying. So please could you give some tips on improving this particular skill?

It was truly challenging to learn English without internet access when I was in middle school 20 years ago. Back then, all we had were textbooks and radio tapes, with limited opportunities to put our learning into practice. It seemed there was little motivation to make an effort. Thankfully, nowadays we are fortunate to have numerous engaging channels and apps available, allowing us to communicate with native speakers online. It's truly a blessing!

hi guys, from Thessaloniki Greece!! great job, thank you so much!! In the proper noun Epictetus, we put an acute accent over the "i". It's very common in greek to emphasis on the first/second syllable. So the actuall pronunciation is E-p"i"-cte-tos \ Ε-π"ί"-κτη-τος (-tos the greek ending/-tus the latin ending) Therefore the pronunciation for Epictetus and generally for the names of the greek philosophers, for the non-greek speakers, it's more like a Roman-Latin pronunciation. So it is not wrong either. Pax Romana✌😄

In this time, i've had to read a lot of english articules, books and feel so frustrate to don't know more english. And now, before eleven years, i want to improve it. The English Language is so important to share with other people, for connect more and better with the people, but to me, it's the opportunity to be bilingual professional. I feel that i mess some jobs because i'm not advanced or intermediate english speaker. Inclusive, my biggest purpose is read english text or books that about Social Science like Anthropology, Sociology. So, find this channel it's like dream come truth because have all that one person need to became an fluent english speaker. Thank you very much!!! Your first question should be other paradigm itself, because a human won't change, To live themselves anywhere is to be possible. To communicate effectively, not to know them too, to live ours as ours is essential. For a human. That's most important thing language should not be a barrier rather it should equip to be equally effective. So that the individual will be able to live their truths loudest.. I can't change my life truths ever, that's basic. Learning should be to respect and be respected mutually but with boundaries too loud. My languages too many there too, should not be lesser to me in that process too. even if I don't care them ... Its deliberate such basics

@@RealLifeEnglish1 I mean a language should not be lessened just because other language is popular or widely used. Or exalted too.
