My Uncle was called to preach by God not a college, at age 4 years old. He wrestled with God back and forth through his adolescence but at 18 he finally said "yes Lord" and Gave him his first church who was closing their doors because they couldn't afford a pastor and my uncle said he would preach for free, because he had a job, he was a butcher. He preached until he was 105 and got his reward at 107 yrs!

Sorry to be off topic, but brothers and sisters I’m in desperate need of prayers. Please pray God will open the door for a cancellation at my neurosurgeon’s office so that I can get an extremely important surgery on my cervical spine ASAP. I don’t have the luxury of waiting. I should have done this long ago. I had hoped Jesus would’ve come before I got this bad. But sadly he didn’t.

I’m struggling with it too. Forgiving oneself is the hardest. I often wonder how God could forgive someone like me but I KNOW I received the Holy Spirit, but I was self deceived for so long, thinking I was righteous (Ha!) I understand that Psalm that says my sin is ever before me.

Another wonder! Thank you, Jack Hibbs from an old lady back in the woods who just fell over 4 dogs. I have severe osteoporosis and healing 9 fractured. Husband isn’t following the Lord now. He’s older and had to get wood today and he’s suffering, and some days, he behaves as though taking care of the home we built and me is such a burden and he makes sure I know how hard he’s worked this day. (And isn’t nice in the process). I prayed for that power earlier, to love him in spite of his hatefulness toward me. To forgive him. I fret so much over Him and as I was setting up dinner, I was talking to the Lord about what I can do (in my physical condition) to help him. Anyway. Thank you for the message.

Dear Lady, I am in a very similar situation to you and I say this so you'll know that I understand the hurt and frustration that you are going through. I am 80 years old, and like you am in constant pain and disability so I am essentially trapped also in this situation. I know it's very hard to pray for someone to change for ages and nothing happens, but please don't give up. Your husband will have to answer to God some day for his treatment of you. That's on his side of the fence. Keep your side clean and cling tightly to the one who loves you so much. Tell the Lord all your hurt and pain. Experience his comfort and keep believing that he hasn't left or abandoned you. Soon we'll all be with him and have lives of peace and happiness forever. I'll pray for you and I hope you'll pray for me, also. In Jesus' love 💕 Eden.

This has been one of the best sermons I have ever heard. I believe that Jesus Christ honors our Faith in him and as 2 corinthians 5: 7 we walk by faith, and not by sight. Sometimes all we can do is hold onto is our Faith to keep us filled up reading or listening to the Bible is so important and not taking our eyes off of Jesus. That what I truly believe and I do my very best to do. May God helps us in these days we are living in, and praying and reading our Bibles, having a relationship with Yeshua Jesus Christ is our only hope.

Let us pray for people to come back to the Holy Spirit. I actually have a witness story that is relevant to this sermon. It involves my husband losing faith and I was trying to convince him don't fall away. We ended up losing everything including family and had a prayer together which ended up going from Texas to North Dakota with no money and went to get work on the oil field and chased out by a pastor in a church because we were asking for prayer and resources because we were living in a car and saved a Sioux Indian on a Sioux Indian reservation in Poplar, Mt. There is more to this story. This happened back in 2013. I know this feeling about backsliding all too well but we can come back and find Him again! I can't say every detail here about that story but if you want to hear more about that story in detail please let me know. It was all God's work. It took us out of being homeless and have our own home but we lost things out of it and still trying to restore these back. Please keep praying for this world but we can still save.😉

If you truly have a conversion... over time you will grow closer to God and less close to this world. God doesn't want your crumbs. A two minute prayer once or twice a week and maybe an hour in church, but the rest of the week you live like everybody else... (watching violence, committing fornication, unforgiving, hating, coveting) of this world does not make one a follower of Christ. Thankfully God doesn't give up on us easily. Just remember: "Small is the gate and narrow is the path"

I thought he was a little unclear, too. We’re saved at the moment we BELIEVE the message of the gospel. It’s the gospel message that is the power of God to save, not our “taking it further”. It sounded like he’s saying it’s not enough to just believe the Truth, which is saying the rebirth is conditional upon something after believing.

If you can still go to heaven as a backslider, please someone explain this to me as these vs somewhat contradicts that. Psalms 69:28 NLT Erase their names from the Book of Life; don’t let them be counted among the righteous. So when did their names get put into the book of life? When they accepted Christ and got saved? This verse shows that God has the ability to erase one's name if need be. What would cause God to erase someone's name from the Book of Life?

its referring to the great white throne judgment (Rev 20:12) where all the individuals from the old testament, tribulation, and millenium dispensations will be judged for their works. the unsaved will also be judged for their works since they rejected jesus during the church age. these individuals are being judged for their works because they either lived in a period of time where their salvation plan was based off works, or they rejected Jesus during the church age dispensation... born again christians will not be "judged" in this. our judgment takes place at "the judgment seat of christ" (2 Cor 5:9-11)

Chad, you don’t have to go to hell if you’ll repent and call on Him to save you. The reason He died was to pay for your sins so that you could be saved if you call on Him. He rose from the dead and He He will also raise those who have followed Him in faith. As bad as you think you are, I doubt you’ve been as bad as Paul was before he became a Christian. Paul persecuted and murdered Christians and who knows what else. But God was pleased to shower His grace on Paul as an example to those who like you, feel like they’re too far gone to be forgiven. We don’t come to Christ because we are such good people we deserve to be forgiven. No, we come to Him because we are so lost, He is our only hope. Put your faith in Him and trust Him to transform you in ways you never imagined possible. And read His Word! You don’t need a special study Bible or books to understand. Just a simple Bible in almost any translation. King James is not ideal since it is old English and harder to understand. Begin in Matthew chapter 1 verse 1 and read 2-3 chapters in consecutive order every day. When you finish Matthew, keep reading through Mark then Luke, then John and so on until you finish the last chapter in Revelation. Then either read the Old Testament or go back and reread books in the New Testament that interested you the first time. Make sure you use colored pencils (they won’t bleed through) to highlight passages that stand out to you so you can go back and easily find them. I like to assign a different color to each topic for easy reference. And use a regular pencil to make notes in the margins. I like using pencil because it’s erasable. And find a good church to go to and get involved, but avoid ones like Catholics, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Just google those churches to see why. Many blessings on your new journey. Remember that the more broken you are as a vessel, the more God’s light shines through you and the bigger your testimony.
@DavisYates

Hey Chad, I will be praying for you. Everybody has messed up, we have all done things we’re ashamed of in our lives and the fact that you recognize this in your own life is the first step. Nobody is too far gone for Jesus to save. In that brokenness is where Jesus can meet you and call you by name and let you know that He paid it all for you because He loves you and knew you couldn’t. If you place your full trust in Him for salvation, like you’d trust a parachute, turn from sin and let the spirit sanctify you as you follow Him, He will grant you everlasting life as a free gift. John 3:16. God bless brother.

If one truly repents with the firm purpose of the amendments, God will forgive him. To be sure that one is forgiven, one needs to belong to Our Lord's Holy Sheepfold (John 10:16), His Church founded on the 12 Apostles (Rev 21:14) with St. Peter, His Vicar (Pope) on earth, vesting him with His Authority by giving him the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt 16:18-19). Before Ascension, Our Lord ordered the Apostles to go to all nations and teach them to observe ALL HE commanded (Matt 28:20) and said, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16:16)." Believe what? The words of the Apostles (John 17:20), that is the teachings of His One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church, and baptized by receiving the Sacrament of Baptism administered by His Church. At the Baptism, God forgives all past sins of the baptized, restores the Sanctifying Grace in his soul which makes him a child of God (John 1:12) and a member of His Mystical Body, the Church (Eph 5:23). Now, after receiving the Sacrament of Baptism, could anyone live in the world without committing a sin and preserve the Sanctifying Grace, which is the wedding garment (Matt 22:12-13) required to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Yes, one can with God's help, but, since we are still weak against temptations, It will require assiduous efforts on our part to cooperate with the Graces given through the Sacraments Our Lord instituted in the Church, particularly, the Sacrament of Confession and the Holy Eucharist (John 6:53-54). Without the Graces from Sacraments administered by the Catholic Church, one cannot be saved. That's why 'Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus (outside the Church, no salvation)' is a Catholic Dogma (Catechism No. 846). For further information on this, please watch The Forgotten Dogma: No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church by Father Isaac Mary Relyea on KZbin.

One scripture that baffles me is when Peter rejected Jesus three times and Jesus had warned Peter of this, what condition was Peter in at that time. I can understand people who commit the sin of Apostasy…but Hosea 14:4 says I will heal their backsliding. Sometimes I think there are lots of people sitting in churches who are haphazard with their Christian walk. This is a very hard subject.

St. Peter, out of human weakness, committed a mortal sin (1 John 5:16). He wept bitterly (Matt 26:75) and repented of his denials. He was found by St. John and brought back to the House of the Last Supper (that belonged to Lazarus, Mary and Martha); and Blessed Mother told him that Her Son already forgave him and therefore do not be in distress. That's why they were together on Easter Sunday morning (John Chap. 20). Our Lord says (excerpts from Maria Valtorta's Notebooks 1945-1950, pp. 496-497): "Peter, the first of Apostles, the Rock on which I founded My Church (Matt 16:18). So ready to come to Me (Matt 4:20), so bold in defending Me (John 18:10), in professing the Truth about Me (Matt 16:16)! And then? And then see him as a coward, a liar, and a spiritual traitor to his Jesus, 'I do not know this Man, I am not His disciple (John 18:17,25,27).' I tell you truly that, at that moment, Peter was more wretched than Judas Iscariot, for he was bold in his crime and wanted to be known as the 'traitor' and the 'deicide.' Peter, on the other hand, lacked the courage to say, 'I am His disciple and I know Him,' for it is a supreme honor to be the disciples of God, but he denied. It takes heroism to defend someone who has fallen into disgrace. And heroism comes from an inner life which is intensely nourished by charity -- that is, sustained by union with God and, by loving, certain faith in the Friend. Peter had not yet been confirmed in Charity and Grace (Acts Chap 2). He was still 'man' and had man's selfishness, baseness, unstable faith, and ephemeral friendship. He thought of defending himself from possible dangers and not of defending his Friend, at least by word. Why did Peter commit that sin -- he, already designated as the Pontiff of the Church (Matt 16:19), which was then at the dawn of its foundation? Because he was 'carnal man' whom trial and penance had not yet been able to convert into 'inner man.' Why did God allow that sin in the first Pontiff of the Church of Christ? So that, 'when he had repented, he would confirm his brothers and sisters (Luke 22:32). So that, in remembering his weakness, he, who, for three years, had fed on My Charity and Wisdom, would be able to judge with True Justice -- without the intransigence of an ancient Israelite or the weakness of an imperfect priest -- the sins of his lambs, who are always less blameworthy than he, because they had not fed directly on My Word. And also, so that, following the example of him, who had sinned and been forgiven and then, when humbled and repentant, was rendered an 'interior man and holy priest,' a True Father and Shepherd of the children of God and the lambs of My Flock, every Pontiff would be, like the first Peter, a judge and father, without intransigence or weakness, a good Shepherd, another Me, so that My Flock would not perish and My Doctrine not be trampled upon."

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. It's sad that a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior would later on doubt their Salvation but if you do you should watch a video by Dr. Gene Kim entitled "6 big questions on once saved always saved".

@Pastor Jack Hibbs I have a question about my sister, Maegan. We were not raised in a Christian home. I had a come to faith moment when my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. I was a "Christmas and Easter" Catholic. Meaning I didn't go to mass or confession, or read the Word, or really regard God or the Church in my life except for Christmas and Easter. After my daughter was given the prognosis of a 10% chance to survive a year, I asked for a priest and fell on my face before God. I told Him I would change my life and live for Him if He would save my daughter. As soon as my daughter finished chemo and radiation I started going to mass, signed up for a Bible study, and sent my daughter to Catholic preschool. My sister saw the transformation in my life and started to ask questions. I shared the gospel with her and she started going to mass and doing Bible study with me. She soon began dating a Cathoilic boy, and converted to Catholicism. As I began to really dive into the Word, I realized that the Catholic faith and the Bible told 2 different stories and I went with the Bible. I left the Catholic church 16 years ago and have been a non-denominational Christian ever since. My sister continued in her Catholic faith for a few years but when that relationship ended so did her mass attendance. She continued to do some Bible studies, go to some Christian speaker events, read some books by Christian authors and occasionally attended church with me. My daughter ended up being the only survivor of her clinical trial and lived cancer free for 10 years! Unfortunately, it came back 10 years later, as a late effect of the first radiation and the only treatment available was more radiation which they weren't even sure she would survive. She did and was thriving but it came back and spread viciously and she passed 11 months after her second diagnosis. Meanwhile, a few years after my daughter's initial diagnosis, my sister, Lauren, who was Maegan's identical twin, was also diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and was given days, weeks, or months to live. She lived 6 years but ended up passing 8 months before my daughter. We did home hospice for both girls and it was an extremely traumatic experience for us all. After Lauren's passing, my sister Naegan retreated in to herself for months. Then she up and moved out of state and pretty much stopped talking to her family. She went on this "healing" journey and came out totally new age. She is now, 8 years later, a psychic medium who gives "readings" that she " channels from the universe," and does spiritual counseling, and believes we are seeded from aliens! I know how horrible this is and pray for her daily. Do you think she counts as one who can never be saved? Or I am hoping, that she never really had a true saving faith and there is still hope for her.

The book of John 3 3 through 5 says you must be born again to enter the kingdom of Heaven and you receive the Holy Spirit while being Baptized in the water. Jesus said that. So many people laughing and placing judgement or money or deeds where Jesus should be. And part of deeds means they are always Sooo busy but what they really mean is they are avoiding those who know Jesus and are suffering heavy attacks and mockery.

Bottom line is there are 3 types of people walking the earth right now. 1. The saved - Ture Christ followers, believers, and the elect people of God. 2. The Unsaved - Who have not given their life over to Jesus or hurd the good news and message of Jesus. 3. The Dammed - Those that reject the Good news and activly fight against him and his Elect People. God tells us to share the message and good news with the unsaved. As for the damed we are to stay away from them because they have heard the message and have rejected it. They actively rebel and spit in Gods face and go out of their way to hurt God's elect his children.

I feel like I'm not saved after these 2 teachings. I was saved and baptized at 18. I did bible study and attended church and the events. When I was lead to the Lord I felt something change within me but I don't think I really grew. My husband and I left our church about 6 months later and lived in the world. Eventually our marriage fell apart. Now 7 years ago, I wanted Jesus in my life so much. I thought I had been gone so long and done so many horrible things, that I couldn't come back. I finally found some good teachers on KZbin, like you Pastor Jack and felt saved and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. I have changed so much from the inside. When I sing and worship Jesus, I am moved to tears so many times. Then I hear a sermon like this and I feel like I'm not saved because I was once and rejected God to walk in the world. Someone please tell me, am I saved? Or am I one who can never be saved? I'm not really totally sure, because I want to follow Jesus all the days of my life, whether I am or not.

You talk about context and then ignore context..The context is in the rest of the chapter. It is not about whether one can be saved, but it is about the impossibility of putting Christ to an open shame again as if needing to put him back on the Cross. Rather, we have an advocate in Christ that when we do sin, we can be reconciled through him, and not through another sacriface. You completely missed this one. If you'd ever answer, I would contact you personally, but some people think that these kind of comments are beniegth them. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Again, you present this scripture out of context, as it is a conditional statement. "Who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit" That is conditional.

It’s really not a great mystery about those within the church, that prophecy, cast out demons and do wonders in Jesus name, but at the same time are apostate. Jesus identified them as the workers of iniquity, or practicers of lawlessness. The Apostle Peter complimented this teaching when he points out that false teachers in Christ are filled with adultery and lure people in through lusts of the flesh while promising liberty. Again, really not a great mystery at all. (Matthew Chapter 7 Verses 22 and 23, 2 Peter Chapter 2 Verses 14, 18 and 19)

3But among you, as is proper among the saints, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk, or crude joking, which are out of character, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not be partakers with them. - Ephesians 5:3-7

Chapter VII Of God's Covenant with Man I. The distance between God and the creature is so great, that although reasonable creatures do owe obedience unto him as their Creator, yet they could never have any fruition of him as their blessedness and reward, but by some voluntary condescension on God's part, which he hath been pleased to express by way of covenant. II. The first covenant made with man was a covenant of works, wherein life was promised to Adam; and in him to his posterity, upon condition of perfect and personal obedience. III. Man, by his fall, having made himself uncapable of life by that covenant, the Lord was pleased to make a second, commonly called the covenant of grace; wherein he freely offereth unto sinners life and salvation by Jesus Christ; requiring of them faith in him, that they may be saved, and promising to give unto all those that are ordained unto eternal life his Holy Spirit, to make them willing, and able to believe. IV. This covenant of grace is frequently set forth in Scripture by the name of a testament, in reference to the death of Jesus Christ the Testator, and to the everlasting inheritance, with all things belonging to it, therein bequeathed. V. This covenant was differently administered in the time of the law, and in the time of the gospel: under the law, it was administered by promises, prophecies, sacrifices, circumcision, the paschal lamb, and other types and ordinances delivered to the people of the Jews, all foresignifying Christ to come; which were, for that time, sufficient and efficacious, through the operation of the Spirit, to instruct and build up the elect in faith in the promised Messiah, by whom they had full remission of sins, and eternal salvation; and is called the old testament. VI. Under the gospel, when Christ, the substance, was exhibited, the ordinances in which this covenant is dispensed are the preaching of the Word, and the administration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper: which, though fewer in number, and administered with more simplicity, and less outward glory, yet, in them, it is held forth in more fullness, evidence, and spiritual efficacy, to all nations, both Jews and Gentiles; and is called the new testament. There are not therefore two covenants of grace, differing in substance, but one and the same, under various dispensations.

The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
