Art is amazing, but to be honest, I still think it's a big downgrade. They focused on character faces where the characters don't show much emotion, and they cut back on large scenery, which is Miura signature art style. Making me feel like they just want to cut cost and rush out the manga.

6:00 that Farnese face panel is so well drawn, it's so damn close to Miura's art, probably the closest they've ever gotten. Also, I know I am looking a bit too far into the future, and this is probably formulaic and they won't do it, but I think Guts, or at least his allies, will take down Griffith's generals one by one. First Rakshas, then Irvine, then Locus, then an epic boss fight with Grunbeld. Or maybe not, maybe we'll have a big battlefield action scene where everyone's fighting everyone, idk.

My theory, if the translations are relatively accurate, rakshas did die by the hands of rickert but he died from the hands of human weapons. The dragon slayer is infused with demon essence and maybe that’s the determining factor. Rickert used a bazooka.. Slan told Guts his soul would be a perfect match for Qliphoth. Maybe Rakshas human spirit/essence caused him to drift into Qliphoth. Maybe, as skull knight stated, with Guts’s sword alone “it can be done. Tempered with the malice of hundreds, thousands of the dead”. I feel like that makes sense of Rakshas reemergence if he did die (shout out Rickert for being the only human other than Guts to kill an apostle. That’s dat boy!). And personally, it’s been an ongoing thing since the black swordsman arc that Slan is highly infatuated w Guts. She came close to having him use the behelit. Its face was aligned perfectly… I think she sees a better opportunity. Guts is at his lowest. She wants him. She’s trying again.

I dig. especially with the destruction of the Spirit Trees. that was after all the point of that, to sink the physical world deeper into the Astral World. I actually doubt it is matter of "they couldn't" and more a matter of "the flow of causality." they manifest when their fates deem it time I suspect.

It has to be Griffith or one of the God Hand controlling Rakshas, to open a Qliphoth right in the middle of the Kushan capital. So that means unless the revival is something inherent to Rakshas, Griffith or the other God Hand can apparently just revive apostles, which has horrifying implications. That could also mean... Skull Knight may reappear, like he did last time. Also.. man.. they're really teasing us with shots of Guts at the end lol. I hope he can pull himself together to fight whatever is coming.

That slap from Rickert, however he did it, is the key to defeating Griffith. Whether it was through means unknown or Femto allowing him to slap him as punishment for what he did, Guts’ and Griffith’s story and dialogue are not over. They both have much to say to each other before that final battle still, and maybe Griffith’s arrogance to prove he can defeat Guts without the Hawk of Darkness’ immortal power is what will end up giving Guts that opening to avenge the band finally.

Its great the Berserk is back along HxH. I do think they made a mistake drawing the dead trolls as dark silhouettes and again when they were surrounding the witches. I suppose expecting the same quality as Miura is unreasonable but taking such a shortcut is too much. I think Rakshas' ability saved him somehow, I don't think the Godhand are directly involved in this.

I genuinely want the studio from Berserk 2016 to animate more Berserk but before you call me insane what I mean is the studio who animated the second Opening song because it has honestly my favorite art and animation in Berserk anime history. Yes the movies are done very well but they are a little too glossy IMHO and 1997 was a slideshow. I also don't think the studio that did the CG was actually bad but just terribly mismanaged. It should have played more of a support role than being at the forefront given their lack of experience. I want Berserk 2016 studios to be given a second chance but perhaps a different director.

A reason that clipoth is manifesting could be due to guts's interstice since after the merging of the physical and astral world we didn't know how that could react with the brand so maybe after rakshas appeared the seal on the brand was undone and qlipoth creatures came in like someone leaving the door open and letting the critters in
