Our Pope goes to celebrate one of Easter's most important moments, the Last Supper, at a jail. He kneels down to the ground in front of inmates, like Jesus did in front of the Apostles, to wash their feet, as part of the function. He dines with the poor often. He talks to the romanji people, an immigrant, nomad people that inhabits Italy and unfortunately many members have gangs. He goes to hospitals to visit the sick. He talks to priests who abandoned their ministry to start families. He talks to everybody. The Catholic Church doctrine is so clear that even some Catholics, that don't see the good behind the rules, will feel excluded in their lifestyle. I'm surprised those trans people had the guts to go. Turns out people like to be together and have a peaceful time, especially around a table full of food. (If you try our food you'll forget about everybody's differences for a bit)😉 When Jesus spoke about the difficulty of getting into the Kingdom of Heaven in the Gospel, even His disciples where puzzled, who can be saved? Then Jesus went ahead and ate with people. Touched the sick, talked to the outcasts. He wanted to be there so the Father could reach them with His grace if they wanted. And of course Jesus's enemies said He was condoning sin by being so friendly. Read anything from the Catholic doctrine, nothing condones the slightest sin. Lived truly, it's an ascetic path. The doctrine is very thorough. But everything points to God's love for man (whose life and dignity are sacred) and it's a rule for Catholics to reach out to the ones who are in need. Things are different here in Italy. We don't argue as well as you Americans do. We don't like debates as much (also because we get very noisy). But we like to just go ahead and do stuff. If you look at another great Catholic example from Rome, Chiara Amirante, this woman, now in her 50s, in her 20s started going out at night to talk to young people in the streets, drug addicts, prostitutes. She felt called to do that and just by being there (and somehow not getting killed or raped) God touched the souls of many. She started living with them and praying with them, they always received a house or a meal from nowhere, and people of all kinds, including youth from the Mafia, got out of crime thanks to her. She has now many centers to welcome people and she continues to live with them off of Divine Providence. If you hear her speak, like the Pope, she speaks simply. She won't shine at debates. But her actions speak louder and it's all in line with our doctrine without mistakes. This same attitude can be seen in all Saints, from the roman empire to the last few years, that belonged to the Catholic Church. All of which followed the Pope. They had a simple and humble spirit that kept them from losing their peace and trust whenever they say something that seemed wrong. All the same, just like Saint Francis, a literal devout beggar whose radical humility made way to God's miracles. The Pope won't try to convince anyone, all has already been said. But he will always try to reach the ones who went astray. Some Catholics don't accept the Pope, but they are a separate group.

As a Catholic, I can tell you that faithful Catholics are continually horrified by the actions of this pope, and it is getting worse by the day. All are welcomed by Pope Francis…unless you simply believe what the Church has always and everywhere taught for 2,000 years. Then you are a problem, a “source of disunity.” And good and holy priests and bishops are being persecuted, cancelled, and accused of being “schismatic.” I know a holy priest who told me that he believes Francis himself is a chastisement of the Church.

But along with meeting with them where their life situation was, in every case, He offered them an invitation to “ metanoia”. An open invitation to turn away from the sinful path, to choose a life in relationship with God and His commandments. We do not know if that is the path Pope Francis is perusing. Every one of us who profess to be Christian are called to ongoing “ metanoia”.

I’m not a Catholic. Protestant, but ultimately a Christ follower. Even though I’m not Catholic, this still disturbs me. Because the Pope is the leader of the Catholic church after Christ. So what the Pope chooses to do is significant in that way. And if the Pope starts doing things completely against God, I think that would be a significant sign for us to notice. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt. And hope that he is just trying to bring sinners to repentance and forgiveness, to bring lost people to Christ. Not to confirm or tolerate the transgenderism. But to hopefully help them out of that sin, to Christ. But I would have to hear his reason for this. And I guess know more details. Ultimately God is in control. And I can’t wait for the day for my Savior and King, Jesus Christ returns!!

I am LCMS Lutheran. I believe Catholics are our brothers and sisters in Christ. That said, the Catholic Church has much MUCH to correct, beginning with the Pope.

Jesus Christ died to set believers free. He was non violent and never forced anyone to follow Him. He would speak to people like they were somebody. If they listen ok if they didn't He moved on. John 14:6 John 3: 3,16

So very much a strong teacher of right and wrong. Sometimes Christians paint Jesus as a mild hippy like leader. He was not! Good and evil exists and did not dance around the subject!

The Catholic Church has always gone through cycles of a new pope that wants to change all the traditions and that goes on for a few popes and then when everyone left the church they finally elect a pope that wants to return to tradition and the church grows again. It’s just like woke business cycles. Jesus said not even the devil could destroy his church. I’m along for the ride until the end.

Jesus left you a Church for you to be in it. Don't think you should leave it. The Church is the arc of Peter and you are not to leave the arc no matter the storm. And the Church has had, many storms and worst than this one. A pope's personal conduit, is between him and God. It has nothing to do with you, nor with the church really. Also while this is not a perfect pope and a bit son of his times... things get distorter, half truths, across the board. Even in a great podcast like this one, it seems the ope is all onboard with tarns. He has been very clear that it is a sin.
