because i have a 6speed 2019 Veloster N that i love but tired os sitting on the ground? That powertrain is bulletproof, ive been ripping the sh*t out of my VN and after 100k KM it still runs like it did when i came out of the dealership with it.

Would I buy one? For sure, I have! Nothing else here in Australia at this price point in the compact suv class has the performance of Kona N. I love that it’s easy to get in and out of, but also a blast on every drive😊

Honest review, appreciate that. I've had my '23 for a little over a month and I absolutely love it. The DCT is a breath of fresh air as my other ride is a 6M Scat Pack. I had the resonators deleted at like 200 miles, and changed the lower motor mount bushings around the same time. Drives and sounds exactly how I hoped it would. I have no complaints about the suspension but I leave it set to normal in N1. I've only driven my SP twice since I got my KN so that tells you something. I do wish it had a little more in the 60-130 range but I think that's fixable with a few fairly cheap mods, maybe a piggyback and a bolt on or two. We'll see. Overall I love it though.

I'm one of the 20's you mentioned. I got mine yesterday with the sonic blue paint. I get it not only for the specifications it has but also to show support to the team and hard work that been put to this vehicle in this boring era of car manufacturing. I've been searching for a while for just a simple car that has a decent engine, affordable, reliable, and fun to drive. Here comes Kona N. By the way I'm from Middle East but I use to do search in english so most of the results come from European or American market, based on that I ain't expect sun roof or seat cooling once I applied, when I drive it first time, boom! There is a sun roof above and seat cooling buttons are there, such blessings.

I just got my Kona N on 5/18/22 and I am LOVING it, I was never into a hyundai, to be quite honest I was AGAINST ever owning a hyundai, but this car has turned me into an N fan for sure! awesome for me and my wife to both drive. Went on a road trip down to Miami this weekend and was such a smooth drive , very easy to go FAST and not feel like you're going over 60 mph, very steady and an amazing car to own!

@@omardrives Its such a blast to drive it, and YES N mode is super stiff, But i do love the N custom modes that allow you to tweak the car. figured out launch control a few weeks ago and so far my best 0-60 on the cars timer is a 5.10 so im pretty impressed, wasnt even using NGS

I got one a few months ago.They are also going to go real fast now that car and driver ran a 4.8 second to 60--which honestly does not surprise me.Engine, Transmission, and Performance Behind the Kona N's aggressive-looking, well-vented nose sits the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that motivates the sportiest Veloster. In most situations, it makes 276 horses, but press the red button on the steering wheel and you'll call up an additional 10 ponies for a 20-second burst. Unsurprisingly, the crossover doesn't offer its smaller sibling's manual transmission. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic handles the shifting duties and routes torque to the front wheels only. We drove one recently and had a blast tossing it into corners and engaging the overboost function. At our test track, it blasted to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. Yeah, the steering could be a hint quicker, but we appreciate the level of feedback that the helm provides. We also wish the Kona N had more sound insulation, as a fair bit of road noise plagues the cabin at highway speeds, but the tiny ute's performance somewhat makes up for that.From the newer car and driver review of it--BTW once winter comes it should run even faster if you can get traction.

@@khronin my fastest 0-60 so far was 5.10 and that was without NGS activated, avg around 5.56-5.73

@@deelusional1526 Yeah--sounds about rt in normal weather/I can tell you that when the weather gets cold and after these get over 3k miles on them they should run faster.I also plan on putting 245 tires on there--but I copied and pasted that statemnt from car and driver and usually they are pretty accurate.I woud have gladly payed an extra 2k or so for AWD--had a 2020 stinger GT AWD 3.3TT and it was very fast--4.2 to 60 and a 12.7 in the quarter mile--have my drag videos on here.Kona is down about 80 hP from a stinger but it weighs about 800 lbs less so the HP and torque should be able to get it under 5 if it can hook up.

You will be surprised, they are hard to find people are buying them up. I'm one of them. Don't complain about it being stiff in N mode when that's meant for track use. That's why you have custom modes.

Ya this thing is super fun. Lol I wasn't complaining just stating the fact that it's rough on various modes. I mention how in normal mode it's completely fine

@@omardrives I didn't mean you specifically. It's a common complaint I see of reviewers. They are always in N mode and say the car is too stiff. I agree in N mode it's hard to drive on regular roads but in Normal and Sport it's just fine.

I bought mine in March, love it everyday, just keep suspension in normal mode in Custom 1, and leave rest in N settings, drives fine. As far as no one buying them, here in the Dallas Fort Worth Area, no dealer can keep them in stock, they are sold as soon as they roll off the truck, same with Elantra N, they go like hotcakes and with mark ups now!

I bought mine cause I wanted a sporty good handling car without a low ride height. Tired of curving around speed bumps and dips.

I also got one but the biggest thing that bothers me is the horrible turn radius. For such a small car, I hate it so much that I have to back up to turn around in a street when my IS250 turns around easy. FWD pain I suppose.

Same reason I got one--do not have to cringe everytime i see road debris or speed bumps--or raised swer grates.

The problem about too many people getting excited and not buying the car it's not the car itself is that dealerships are rising the car's price through the roof the car is beautiful but buying a Kona n for over 41,000 is not worth it

I got mine for 41k out the door and yes is worth it.Go test drive it and see for yourself.I was not expecting to have so much fun.

@@michaelfont7239 I have test drive every Kona trim there is. I love the Kona model so I had to test all of them. I can even tell you that the "N Line" trim is a ridiculous Unlimited package with a body kit installed on it. Same HP on both. Just different body. The Kona N right now is not worth the 41k tag most dealerships are putting on it. That is s well 6k over that could be invested into something else and not just dealership shenanigans

So wait, that's *less* cargo capacity than a VW Golf GTI from a larger, less aerodynamic, taller vehicler? Kona N: 19.2 cubic feet behind rear seat, 45.8 cubic feet with both seats folded Golf / GTI / R: 22.8 cubic feet behind rear seat, 52.7 cubic feet with both seats folded Hmmm..... 🤔 Honestly was intrigued by this vehicle because I thought it offered more performance and more cargo space than a GTI. But it seems like performance is about the same, cargo space is less than a GTI, it's quite a bit more expensive, and lacks wireless Carplay.

it does offer more performance than the VW's, i eat GTI's and keep up with R's in my 2019 Veloster 6 speed.. but those a great cars too and are more refined in the inside. also they dont ride as harsh like N's do

@@ChuckNorrisxxxking ok, well apples to apples - there’s a drag race of a mk8 gti dsg vs kona n and it’s basically neck and neck. Kona took it off the line, but gti was catching up. Kona won, but I’d call it pretty much even. Veloster n is faster than kona n, and you’re probably racing older gtis, and possibly with manuals, and all season tires. Similarly spec’s, they’re even.
