Its actually comfortable too! I learned along time ago that two big branches were uncomfortable , two smallones flexed and broke, 4 small ones flexed and held up quite comfortably. Im glad you liked the clips in the ole pocket thing, they come in handy. If you ever get any and use them, throw them away when the end protecters fall off or they will cut your tarp or poncho. I love using the quad pod. Thanks for watching my friend.

Cool, Im glad you have learned from me. Yes, the glare is on the lcd screen. It makes it where I cant see anything in the screen especially if Im in the shot. I'll try that trick, it sounds like it may work. Filming myself is avery tricky thing to do at times. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching my friend.

That was a perfect spot for the hanging grill. One time, Nick and I had two shelters, two backpacks and one grill all hanging out of one lone tree in the middle of a swamp! there was rope tied to everything, lol. I have lots of ideas and lots of memories of things Ive set up in the past. theres always something new and nutty I can do for a video,ha ha. Keep watching brother and thanks for watching my friend.

I have never had this roof cave in whenever theres leaves on the tree. It seems to slow down the rain. I will say when theres no leaves or the rain will be very heavy, I put small limbs under the poncho to give it a dome shape. I only use a poncho when I have to. Most of the time I carry a tarp. I'm glad you like the vids bro. Us Southerners think alike! Thanks for watching my friend.

Well years ago I went out on overnighters and two night trips almost every weekend. It slowly went to one nights only then if went to about once a month. Now I hike and do a lot of day trips and barely have time to squeeze in two over nighters a month. work, family life and youtube keep me very very busy. Heck, I have trouble finding time now days to just make videos. LOL. I'm glad you like the videos. Thanks for watching my friend.

Well hello friend! Let me start by saying thank you for commenting and I dont bite so comment away, LOL. Alot of people thought the tree shelter was nuts until they actually saw how easy it was to set up given the right trees. It is fun tho and I try to have fun and laugh throughout all the vids. In that case you never know when you'll need to sleep high up in a tree.

Thanks Mark! I was originally shown this shelter with two big stiff logs. They were uncomfortable. Thin ones broke, four thin ones held up but flexed enough to make this one very comfortable. Even better in the summer when the wind is swaying you, lol. The quad pod cooking system is fantastic for setting up fairly quick with no cordage. Great for burn bans too so you can build over water or a mud puddle. Im glad you liked it bro. thanks for watching my friend.

Oh well, it was 10 months ago and it was fun to go watch it again. Im subbed to alot of people and I just watch the videos and rarely comment. My box is slap full of comments everyday and its hard to keep up with them as is. I had never heard of the Picogrrill. I looked it up and it seems like a really cool design. I saw two different ones, one that took a burner and a pot and one the had a skewer and was a wood burner. Both very nice. Thanks for sending that to me.

I like the solitude of these lousy wet areas but, I do hate all the water and mud I have to deal with. It makes filming very tricky. Dang, that was inventive! I never would have thought of the 'hanging bed', in a month of Sundays. Even when you had it mostly made, I assumed it was just going to be lent against the tree, rather than getting you a cosy horizontal hammock-like affair. Then, you go and top that, big time, with the quad-pod grill!

Grits are made from dried crushed corn. Kinda like polenta in a way. I saw your raised bed and I thought it worked out ok. If your loops sagged down in the night it may be the rope youre using. too slick a rope will unravel itself. A very important step is when you make the crossover loops, you have to double wrap around the branch to lock it in. I was going to show it but, I was afraid the battery would die before I got the grits done. Take care and thanks for watching brother.

This one uses 100 feet. Id say almost all my shelters use 100 feet of rope. The only one I can think of that uses more is the Extreme weather shelter that comes in at 200 feet. Theres no reason to set that one up tho unless the wind is going to be dangerously high. 100 feet should be enough. also, most of them use 100 feet and a few I carry two 50 ft. coils.
