man that sucks. You'd think he'd done way worse than cracked some ribs, but it just shows how painful things can be for different people!
@echoc7213
@echoc7213 3 жыл бұрын
Cracked ribs suck. Dunno if you've ever had any, but it takes a lot more force to fracture the posterior of the ribs, with thicker musculature surrounding, and a bad enough fracture would pop out of place with every breath. I've felt it. It's not fun. Plus with decreased lung sounds on the right and decreased O2 sats, he's most likely got a pneumothorax (punctured lung), so the sac surrounding the lung is filling with air, compressing the lung and making it harder to breathe. I've yet to see the person (not on copious amounts of drugs or alcohol) who could laugh that one off.
@benbooth2783
@benbooth2783 3 жыл бұрын
The pain level surely depends on how dislocated the ribs are, I've cracked a rib and it wasn't too bad, but if you snapped your rib and it was sticking into your lung, I imagine that is much worse.
@jamesmckenzie3532

Done this twice. Once in a bike ride where I managed to put my elbow into my ribs. Driving was not anywhere near enjoyable. Took a month to fully recover. Second time was a hiking fall. Six broken ribs and a fractured clavicle. Both times I avoided PT or as it is more commonly called a collapsed lung. This gent had a collapsed lung, that's why his blood oxygen saturation levels were dropping fast. Four days on hospital was a short visit. I've heard of a week or more.

I'm wondering as well. Also, did they throw a pelvic binder on? I saw one at 6:25, looked like they were prepping it for application. Knowing the narration in these shows they wouldn't have missed a chance to throw in more drama if there was a pelvic injury, so I'm wondering if or why that was applied too.
@bubbles7398

Idk much medical stuff but maybe they didn’t right away because he was breathing, awake, and they knew probable rib fractures. Maybe the rib fractures would’ve possibly made it harder to insert a needle to decompress him? Or maybe they thought the chest pain was from the broken ribs which I know is very painful especially while breathing?

No issues with assembly for me kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
