They KIND of taught us something similar when I was stationed in Germany, they just made sure we knew not to stand out. And unintentionally I kind of ended up doing it anyways to the point where my way of dressing, acting, walking and even my German accent matched the area and I actually had a native German accuse me of lying about being an American, saying that I was actually a German pretending to be American....lol.

@@juanarocha8629 Danke. I lived in Mannheim, so I picked up the little idiosyncrasy that people in Mannheim did. Such as the Mannheim accent and the way they say their numbers with an "sh" at the end instead of a "g" like they do in places like Berlin. People in Mannheim would say "zwanzish" instead of "zwanzig" for 20. It's little stuff like that that can make you seem like a local more than anything else.

The most important theme here is to match your environment. If you're operating in an environment with other trained/experienced professionals, they will know what to look for, and they will know how to spot someone trying to blend, meaning trying to blend may actually be the opposite of what you want to do. Everything from the style/type of clothes you are wearing to how dirty your shoes are is key to successfully blending in.

One tip I came across years ago for people who travel to countries dangerous for tourists: Buy a few outfits from brands made IN the country you're visiting. Don't just dress LIKE the locals, wear the same brands from the same stores as well. Yes, there are plenty of brands and logos that are recognizable worldwide, but I get what they meant. Also, with online world cams, you can literally surveil many major cities and see exactly what the locals dress like before you even get there
@jouwenlee78292 жыл бұрын
The suggestion Antonio gave in the video is probably correct for North America region, or some countries in Europe. Wearing hoodie in tropical countries? Suits or jackets out in the hot sun, long sleeves? As Asian with yellow skin I can’t blend in among Indians in India no matter how I dress. In the street no one is wear hoodie so I can hide my skin and face. 😆 There’s so much that one can do to blend in, we can only try our best and avoid getting ourselves into dangerous places and situations.

There are also reversible sweatshirts and hoodies that are different colours depending which way you wear it. As far as paying attention to your surroundings is concerned. Try playing games where you really need to pay attention, use headphones and progressively turn the volume down ( it helps you be able to hear things like someone walking behind you and if they change pace) I recommend trying it with the likes of Assassin's Creed, and just walking around through crowds in the game to start with.

The movement one is big. Some people stick out like mad because they're exceptionally quick walkers. Bodily movements that are jolting are eye catching as well, like shaking out the wrists or just changing direction too sharply. Fast movements take more energy, and spending more energy usually means you have a good reason. People are instinctually attuned to noticing people who are acting with some sense of urgency. Anything you do that causes people to focus on you for a split second is where you're going to get recognized, get engaged in conversation, or have a small amount of printing noticed. Some things can't be changed really. I'm 6'4" and people will notice that, especially when I am up close. However, it's a game of averages. One or two outlying elements won't be a big deal, and almost everyone has something that stands out a bit.

This would be extremely hard for me to do in everyday clothes because I collect abunch of accessories particularly from my tribe that is very far away from where I currently live and love wearing it almost everywhere I go, I definitely stand out in the place i live in due to my eccentric outfits but when I used to walk at night to clear my thoughts however I would naturally do all this because I didn't want to run the risk of becoming a target to crazy people or suspicious police etc.

This is a very interesting topic that covers the basics. I would love to see a video going into more details on how to dress a little more upscale while also carrying a firearm, trauma kit, maybe even handcuffs or other items that military/LE/prepared citizens would be carrying. Perhaps highlight some "tactical" clothing manufacturers at different price points that don't scream "I've got a gun!". I know LAPG has some lower cost options and Vertx and 5.11 have some items. Personally, I've began wearing clothing with hidden extra pockets to hide a tourniquet or other items. I prefer materials that limit cotton so you won't get hypothermia if stuck out in the elements. Would really like to hear your opinion on "covert cargo" pants like LAPG's BFE line of pants, like are they ever appropriate and if so how dressy can the be? How aggressive of a tread pattern/lug sole would be appropriate on a dress boot worn with a suit? Could the Thursday Boots Wingtips be resoled with a lug sole and not look goofy? Please more specifics. Lol.

He realizes that in this area the only jasmine is from the marks perfume left in the atmosphere from her passing through minutes earlier. This is enough information to alert him to thier presence and he sets up a sniper nest that leads to the final climax of the movie.

If you’re in London and needing to wear a suit to be a grey man, a lot of the commuter guys that work in Canary Wharf and the likes wear trainers (with their suits) to the office and keep their smart shoes there. This could help you if you dont want to compromise decent footwear in the city. Maybe just make sure they’re navy or whatever and nothing too loud. But generally 50% of the guys on the tube I see commuting wear trainers. Hope this helps!

While traveling to places like Bangkok or Rio I try not to look like a tourist or at the very least, someone worth mugging, don't wear any bling don't wear noticeable or desirable brands, wear a cheap watch like a Casio world timer, maybe take a budget pay as you go phone just for the travelling away from the secure tourist friendly areas as well as carry a fake wallet (A separate wallet with just a few bucks of local currency, the bulk of your cash and credit card in one of those belts with a hidden pouch) If you are pulled into a ally, they will just want, wallet, watch and phone, then they will run off not really knowing that they have nothing of note or value, also they are less likely to frisk you and perhaps find your hidden valubles if you don't hand them anything. The best look to emulate, Karl Urban in The Bourne Supremacy, tatty canvas bag, plain sunglasses, cargo pants, boots, Henley shirt even his bling was string, yet he looked a total badass.
