Mike Rowe is a weaver! He listens to whoever he is interviewing, discovers a nugget of information from their past and always weaves the interview back to that nugget that impacted them before they became who they are. Between 11:30 and 12:20 Jason made an excellent point that a lot of men deal with over their lives and Mike just ignored it and moved to the next question. Trying to live up to a persona you think you have to play is ingrained in a lot of men when they are young. Whether you put on the mask of the tough guy who was told as a boy to never be seen as weak or the boy who was told they would never amount to anything so they overcompensate and become a workaholic. Men struggle with knowing who they really are, that is where the midlife crisis comes from. It was disappointing that Mike didn't take that opportunity to be vulnerable and ask a follow up question.
@georgesoros64153 ай бұрын
@@Taurabirdy Mike has never faked anything. If you knew him like I knew him, Mike is what you see, every time. I love George Costanza, because I know its not a real person. It's Jason, who has a very Jewish disease. Navel gazing. In fact, it makes him such a great actor (see Mrs. Maizel). But Mike is not that. He is exactly what you see, and I knew him well before he was famous. THAT is Mike. A perfect man. Tall of stature, kind of heart, great of voice. And he snuffeth not the broken reed. A Mensch, as Jason would say. Both fine men, but in a lot of ways, opposite. I found this interesting, to say the least.

When we think about how much we hate someone or fear something then become filled with hate and fear. The same goes for revenge or envy. Mike, what you and Jason are doing by interviewing a variety of people on various subjects is just what I have been looking for. Decades ago I enjoyed listening to a Seattle radio station program that covered different topics each day. Subjects that I did not initially care about I found interesting on some level. My curiosity was awakened, I learned something and felt enriched by the time the program was over. ( Sadly the station is now either politics or sports for the most part.) Close your eyes... And let it go. One of my dads favorite sayings was "Tomorrows another day..." speaks a lot. Hey mike, Not sure if you'll see this but I have one of your signed Eagle Scout letters back in 2018/19. I love your triangle shaped "A"'s hehehe. I just got to say... Thank you and God bless you. My father passed away 2 years ago to cancer. Gleo Blastoma. Faught it for 5 years. You actually have a lot of the same traits. Honestly mike you're an endless gift to me and I'm sure many other people. Real relatability with real human characteristics. From one Eagle scout to another, I've had quite a rough ride. Poly drug addictions, mental dysphoria, autism symptoms. Doctors used to call me a "bag of marbles" haha. It's been almost 10 years of light to heavy drug use but within the last month I had a what you call "white light" moment. something spoke though me one day while I was questioning my existence and what how to move foreword. It quite honestly instantly flipped my perspective of pessimistic reality. It showed me my passion or at least the spark to get me going in life. a deep passion with endless potential if you will. There's a lot of details but I wont drag this forever haha. Thank you for letting me feel my father again.... It honestly warms my heart on every full warm tone out of that great voice :) ( I sing as well. we should do a duet or barber shop haha) Never stop. this path your walking will guild eyes to the light you feel in your day to day life. Thank you. I actually have quite and interesting story to tell. If I could put it simply... You could say I've ventured into Satan's grasp to gather as knowledge and perspective about the evil and those blinded by it. Why they follow and what true manipulation entails So I can bring back these pieces of the puzzle of evil back to the light, And translate these misunderstood realties and perspectives of these sick people. Long story short, 3 maybe 4 years ago I met an individual(which turned out to be a cult of people) who was tasked to destroy my mentality, to the point of mind control, psychosis, and worse. I hypothesis they were attempting to recreate "Project Artichoke" (CIA program associated with MK ultra, look it up, not fun). at this point my drug use "ramped up" to much harder substances which were glamorized by these delinquents. B4 I give a slight rundown, I need to say, I claim full responsibility for my condition currently and the issues that arose in my recovery to this point. Evil tactics aside, I made the choice to put those things in my body. Period. It's just unfortunate all supply was in intention to hurt me. I was manipulated slowly over 3 years with suggested heavy drug use. These people (the reason this comment started was your gypsy organization thing...because its exactly true its cult level) made plans and practically set up a stage show for me to walk into so they could use me as they wish. They also researched or knew about(somehow) tactics directly tied to making someone lose your mind over time. worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/questions/4473/how-can-magic-be-used-to-drive-someone-insane-later - I came a crossed this site by miracle one night midst my drug induced mania. Its jumbled now but when it was 1st read(almost a year ago) it was almost like a checklist for the behaviors they were showing to me. Almost each and every one they were display when I "hung out" with them. I'm a very very selfless person due to my autism and they saw that and abused it. They made the drugs look normal like it was just like smoking a cigarette. And with drug addictions, Setting is key. if you go back to the same ppl, same place, the same drugs will always always persist. This isn't a new thing. People like me who are lonely due to developmental awkwardness trying to reach out for friends get used and abused. National news never reaches it but anyone from a small town knows what I'm talking about. I pray for anyone going though this. It is a surreal feeling of wanting to meet someone who wants you dead... just to get high. Currently I've defeated the biggest demon when I started the "heavy" use but I have many more to go. Rehab is planned soon to help me learn to function well in my day to day. I was running away from my dads death but I finally came to terms. And you, Mike, Helped me greatly. Thank you I finally see the path with the light. and god damn it I'm walking. no matter how steep. " I've ventured into Satan's grasp to gather as knowledge and perspective about the evil and those blinded by it. Why they follow and what true manipulation entails So I can bring back these pieces of the puzzle of evil back to the light, And translate these misunderstood realties and perspectives of these sick people. " Yes I know, People who do hard drugs often develop paranoia which then leads to delusions. All these addicts yapping about witches and demons and ghost. Yeah it does sound insane I cant blame anyone.... But I have a theory... And I challenge anyone, Including you mike, To question me and ask away about my story or the evidence of my story, Or even my hypothetical my ideals about the direct relation between perspective and actual reality. I'm open to all :) And with that, I'll shut up haha. Thank you for all your good work mike. if you even see this(praying), I'd love to open a conversation with you and share more of my story dipping into the darkness slowly consuming our beautiful mother nature and her earthlings. Or even just a coffee and chat haha whatever works. My emails always open! And for anyone else reading this. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day/night. May his light shine between the heavy foliage of doubt causing your panic, And may it then brighten the path. Not just any path, But the path towards not just exponential joy, but consistent stable joy. Allow them your grace, In his name, Amen!!!!!! Love you mike and keep being real. Always (P.S MY DADS FAVORITE POET WAS EDGAR ALLAN POE)

Thank you Jason!!! You nailed it. Make room for the differences...we all basically want the same thing. Go home, be surrounded by those we love and care for, because I am enough just as I am ....I have an elevated opinion of who you truly are, because you are just like me.

I appreciate Jason's desire to believe we all want the same thing. That is less true every day. Very sad. I will never live and let live with folks who are pushing darkness.

I went to a psychic reading once just to say I experienced it. I went with a friend who believes in it. It was 100% predictable for the entire hour, especially after I mentioned my wife had died a few months earlier. After I mentioned that I’m willing to bet everyone reading this comment knows exactly how the rest of the session went.

That was fascinating. A lot of unexpected words of wisdom in that one.

Mr Rowe, I love the end of your KZbin. The singing makes my heart happy. Also, I didn't watch Seinfeld but I did have the opportunity to see Mr Alexander, on stage in Oklahoma City - he's a wonderful singer. Thanks for a lovely show, and recommendation.

Immensely enjoyable show…those magical moments unscripted…the kind of conversation you might rarely have at a party, where the chemistry was on and somehow after that interaction, you were elevated.🎭

Mr. Alexander hast to start beliving he is doing a difference with his views and voice. And especially his need to create a fearless, risqé alias proves he understands so many of us.

Jason will always be George Costanza to me. Typecast in the best possible way even if Jason might have struggled with being typecast. Talented actor.

Fidler on the Roof was the greatest thing I have ever seen. I didn't want to go see it because I didn't think I would like it. It helped me try many other things that I didn't think I would like. I would love to see that play one more time with Jason playing Tavia.
