MIKE, DO YOU KNOW WHAT MAKES THE PODCASTS WITH YOUR MOM SO WONDERFUL? IT GIVES THOSE OF US WHO LOST OUR MOTHERS, A MOMENT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE LIFE OF YOU & YOUR MOM. IT BRINGS A SMILE TO MY FACE & A WARMTH IN MY HEART BECAUSE YOU ALL SOUND LIKE HOW MY FAMILY USED TO BE. THE JOKING AROUND, THE STORY-TELLING & THE LOVE IS SO ENDEARING! I LOOK FORWARD TO LISTENING TO MANY MORE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HELPS ME DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR. GOD BLESS! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

@@anthonyamann2430 WHY DO ALL CAPS IMPLY YELLING? WHO DECIDED THIS WAS THE STANDARD? LOL. IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVE 20 EXCLAMATION POINTS AFTER MY SENTENCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT WOULD IMPLY YELLING! 😆🤣 A PODCASTER I LISTEN TO TOLD HIS AUDIENCE IF LISTENERS WANTED HIM TO NOTICE THEIR COMMENTS QUICKER & EASIER, HE INSTRUCTED THEM TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS & PUT HIS NAME AS THE FIRST WORD. I tried to turn off this podcast several times just for the sake of machismo... But I failed. What an episode...from small chuckles to full bellied merriment to melancholic remeberance and a few dirty words to spice up the stew, this conversation watched like a Shakespearian inspired Peanuts Holiday Season special. Thanks to Mike for sharing himself, his beloved friends, and his unrelentingly charming family to the rest of us Whos and Grinches and may we be blessed with years more.

Dear Mike, You are so very lucky to still have both of your parents at our age. ( Yes, I’m three months and two days older than you) I lost my dad when I was 24 and my mom when I was 36, both to cancer. So happy for you that your parents are still healthy and active and you continue to have wonderful memories you make with them. Merry Christmas and cherish every day you still have with them. The loss you feel when you lose a parent is so surreal, almost like you are adrift at sea for a long while. The moment you start to pick up the phone to talk to them or to ask a question, and the reality hits you that is never again going to happen is very jarring. Ps. Your parents are fabulous!

I’m in the almost identical boat. I hate the days when I have a dream of one or both of them and then wake up and have a weird, wow they’re not here anymore moment. The body and mind just shudders. Hurts now typing this. Merry Christmas

Yes, I used to talk to my mom every day, called her to tell her all the big news or just to vent. When I lost her my cousin, who has lost her father a few years before, told me that impulse would take about 3 years to go away. She was pretty much spot on. However, even though the impulse is gone, the desire to share every milestone never goes away.😔 I am glad to have my memories and encourage everyone to make as many as we can while we can. Have a great Christmas. 🥰
