I am instantly transported back to my childhood and listening to Paul Harvey on the AM dial and trying to figure out the mystery and calmed my nerves during Desert Shield and Storm. Mike you have given me a comfort once again just as Paul did all those years ago and now you know the rest of the story. Good day.

These are awesome. My wife loves your voice and said she would listen to you read the phonebook. And I too grew up with Paul Harvey.

I grew up in Clear Lake, and my sister worked at that Randall’s in high school. I remember when this happened, although as a kid, I didn’t realize the ramifications of the event until later. 😊

High pressure steam fitter-plumber-electrician-septic tank installer/cleaner-boiler technician, lineman, electrician, window installer, exterior brickworker, wood restorer. All of my superintending years (I a now 68 years old and was a building super for close to 30 of them) I hd the opportunity to 'hang around' when my vendors and service people called at the building. I never missed the chance to come and sit with them. I can troubleshoot a #2 Weil Mc Lain boiler, rough out, gasket and seal/seat an apartment commode, and use an industrial snake, ten feet back to clear a bathtub stoppage. I feel so damned empowered by all of this, and wouldn't trade the 'high' it gives me for anything! My hubby is in the merchant marine and totally digs what I mean - out on the briny while sailing for Maersk, he did this stuff too!!

I guessed it, I remember reading about this when I was a young kid. This is the kind of thing that the young kids today don't know about and for some reason the teachers today keep trying to shove socialism and communism down their throats.. I also remember reading he actually requested to see a grocery store, something that we took for granted even back then. This is why America kicks ass

James: I did a 15 minute documentary about Yeltsin's visit to Randall's (now Food Town), complete with interviews with the current store manager, a prominent Russian economist who worked under Yeltsin (and had a similar experience grocery shopping in the US), and a Texan who hosted Russians in the 1980s. It's meant for HS/ college use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpLHl4GafLdln5I

Hey, Mike! Could you do a "Voice Over Tutorial?" A "How To" so to speak? I think that would do really well on KZbin! Did it always just come naturally? What are the basics, the essentials, the do's and don'ts? Or am I over thinking it? Will keep asking ;)

And in 2023 it aint that way any more. Shelves are allmost empty. Not that long ago we were hoarding toilet paper. Very few realize at the time and still not today. Toilet paper is a luxery and we can survive without. We dont even need too wipe our ass and we will still survive. We are like cock roaches. You can not kill all of us but I am sure at some point in the furure that somebody or something is going too try very hard. If the kem trailers are any indication somebody or something is already trying but slowly as too not raise too much attention.
