I would disagree. Most people run their business like a dictator, and not like a democracy. So a business person is not the best person to have in charge, if preserving and protecting a democracy is important.

Unfortunately, you couldn't be more wrong about that. The United States is not a business. It's a republic. What he did properly, for the most part, was to adhere to the laws of that republic, the Constitution, with regard to the rights of its people, encouraged economic growth and was a formidable negotiator with friends and enemies.

I think most people miss Trump' business style, I've ran into it a number of time. You come in loud and insulting and make an offer that you would be stupid to take. The proper response would be to tell him what Elon told Isner. In Trumps world, that is the starting point for negotiation. Remember, you can always negotiate down.

Do you know what makes a man a great boss? It’s being direct. I have had bosses who would give namby pamby orders like: could you do this non-descriptive vague task. Then when you go to work out the task it is completely different than what was said. Now you got to figure it out while subconsciously worrying that this is not what the boss wanted. That sucks and gives you stomach ailments. I like a boss who knows how to delegate, states directly what needs to be done & the desired outcome. Trump would be a great boss & by all accounts he is also very generous. Obnoxious? Did you liberals lose your man cards? As a person with a BS in Math and BS in Geology & Geophysics (I know where you're going Greg but just hear me out). We on one hand don't want to make people look bad but on the other hand you have to be honest. If there are millions (and maybe your job) on the line it's lots of pressure. The biggest pressure happens when you have to decide - defend your work, research papers, articles, books, theories etc knowing most of it's wrong today. Or, will you say the 3 hardest words in the universe: "I was wrong."? MLK was right about the character thing.

The thing about Comedians is the great ones are deep thinkers who analyze the substance of humanity and find the absurdity and humor within all people, our culture, belief systems, society, and governments to find the comedy. Sometimes they uncover the horrible truth that is beyond comedy and let us in on the bad stuff easier by showing it to us in a more palatable way. But, whether it was Jon Stewart or George Carlin, there are many hard truths we haven't faced yet. Johnny Carson and Robin Williams, may they rest in peace, were making fun of Joe Biden for Decades before America elected him Vice President or President. We're just not paying enough attention.

When Greg was talking about the experts, and then he was talking about every day people, it reminded me of a couple of books that comedian Tom Naughton who did a documentary called FatHead referenced during a talk he was giving on nutrition. The first book is called The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki, and the other book is The Vision of the Anointed by Thomas Sowell. The first book deals with the fact that if you ask a question to a lot of people you’ll get all sorts of answers. But this is very useful because everybody knows a little bit about everything. The other book talks about how experts fall in love with ideas and try to get the government to force people to embrace their ideas. If their ideas don’t work it’s not because it’s a bad idea . iI’s because they think that people are stupid and the expert should just try the same idea again only make it bigger. Greg stumbled on to this expert vs the public concert and I think is trying to give it some context.
