One of the best tracks of the record. Thanks, Fountainhead

Yeah, but the complex guitar lines (solo and intro, that repeats after first chorus) are him

Not just that mate. The second verse too (1:38 - 1:56 ... there's just something about the emotion that comes across in his parts that makes them easier to identify imo) and the really brutal half step minor chords thing where Steffy boy screams "Ten Sepirothhh" and the outro... Linus and Tom literally wrote this song 50/50 if you don't account for the leads. And it's SUCH a good song that's why I'll be a little bummed if they don't ever write any more extreme metal together tbh :c but at least we have what we do.

what does Trujillo have to do with this? he wasn't neither on the composition or the recording of this album. By the way, live he cant play the vast majority of Fountainhead's solos To me, this album was pretty generic, riffwise and compositionwise, but the solos or melodic ideas that clearly came from FH are the thing that makes it different

Tom was in the band, wrote some stuff but apperantly was a total man-child and a nightmare to work with. Steffen kicked him out and now everyone shits on Rafael for some reason.

THAT BASSSSSSSS, THE TOM GELDSCHLAGER GEETAR this is making me so crazy, it makes me want to practise all day long until I can play/master a goddamn Obscura tune. I am going to DO it ever. 2:06 to 2:24 best part IMO.

***** I know a bunch of people in my local scene actually, including members of Rwake and Pallbearer that hate fretless. I love the basslines on this track, just hate the icky fretless sound.

It's ridiculous how little video footage there is of the intricate soloing in this song. You see almost none of it!

Because Fountainhead wrote it, and I doubt really anyone would be able to do it any justice.

it comes from the bass. it is achieved by first playing a natural harmonic and then sliding up the fretboard by slightly pressing down the note without "killing" the harmonic

Guy, no. Clearly you haven't been keeping up so I would have to STRONGLY recommend you look up the following (with the quotation marks included) in Google. "From a Hadron Machinist" "To Sow the Seeds of Earth" Hannes continues to write music in and out of the vein of Obscura since he left... Two whole years ago.

Is this song about Sepiroth from final fantasy??
@deadlysau58 жыл бұрын
No it's about the ten sephiroth of the kabbalah which is an esoteric teaching from the jews , it's mostly a system of comprehension of the creation of the world and God

Awesome technical music. Too bad about the growling. Seems like 98% of all new metal bands are into that crap. It's yesterday's news. I have some death metal (growling from 1990). Sorry - but I am tired of that. Need more "hearable" vocals.
@renierlombard57588 жыл бұрын
No you are quite correct. It's just that I miss such amazing technical music with a little less growl. I don't think tech music should always be associated with death metal. But I mean no disrespect. Just trying to make sense of today's metal (which is close to my heart) as I grow older :-)
@guilemaigre148 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would work as well with clean singing, for some reason it brings a balance since the lead guitare sound very clean. And it's quite soft for a growl i think, since i understand the majority of it, there is worse :p

i don't personnaly like Fallujah, but you could check Ne Obliviscaris if you haven't already heard of them, they have clean and growl too.
@renierlombard57588 жыл бұрын
Hi everyone. Thank you for the kind tips. I have checked them all out. Really good. That technical play from obscura is still amazing.
