These houses are not worth that price at all and poor people here cannot even afford them making 600 US a month, this is very shameful, we can do better. The building standards here need to be improved to call a price like that. And when will Guyana invest into modern sewage? Those septic tanks are bare problems and stink up the place. Either way, I appreciate your content, thank you for the video.

Which Countries in the West you can get a house for that price? lot of overseas guyanese living in coop up spaces paying over 2000 US dollars a month! this size in Barbados is 250.000 BDS when converted to US dollars is 125.000, guyanese need to be grateful, work hard and expand the house later.

The government can do better than this. These houses are far too expensive for the ordinary poor people in Guyana.

Very poor quality. The government could have built proper homes. People talk about oil money. That is not the standard for oil money. They put them far away from the city. These people will not have cars. How disgusting. So who is benefitting from the oil money? These are cubby holes. The rooms are so small. No built in cupboards.

The land size is more important than the house because you can always upgrade your house if you have land space. It is called a starter house. So, the government has made sure that these are built with adequate land space. No less than 40’ x 80’ land size

Seeing these newly constructed houses being built of low quality made me disappointed, because i know that Mr President wants better for the ppl, however those mandated for this project lack skills and knowledge to build better looking houses, and for the cost of 5.5mill better could have been done,eg a functional layout, better installation of the pipes in the bathroom, and the pipe to the septic tank. Our house builders need to upgrade .

5.5 million of your money is approximately Jamaican 🇯🇲 4.1 million dollars. You guys here is complaining about the price and what not calling it expensive, you should come to Jamaica 🇯🇲 and see expensive. 5.5 million of your money can't even buy good land here. I would move to Guyana right now and take one of them houses for that price. It's a good starter home. Our NHT National Housing Trust has lost it's way here. A one bed room attached (attached to your neighbor) is going for JMD$11 million that's approximately Guyanese 14.6 million. A two bed room in Jamaica 🇯🇲 average price is JMD$ 18 to 22 million dollars, that's Guyanese 23.9 to 29.3 million dollars. So you guys have it good, trust me. I'm here looking for a home.

The design is extremely basic and the layout is very odd. So the bathroom opens into the living room/kitchen area? That makes no sense. Why not place the bathroom in a hallway and allow entrance from both bedrooms. Someone in the living room or kitchen should not have to see people entering or leaving a bathroom.

Would a Guyanese who lived in a decent apartment away live in these? The kitchen is not even a proper kitchen. The washroom opens into the living room. Our house was built in Trinidad about 66 years ago and we had a corridor for the bedrooms and bathroom. There are no closets in the small bedrooms. Poor quality pipe over the sink.
