@SamnissArandeen3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if the leader runs away from the pack with better driving and better car, he deserves it. No fucking with the aero to artificially produce close racing, that only encourages dump and run tactics, increases the chance of being caught in someone else's mistake, and puts driver safety in jeopardy. Plate tracks are horrible about this
@sotamotion4 жыл бұрын
I feel your pain....
@thejman34894 жыл бұрын
The problem is with the restrictor plate or tapered spacer. You take a roughly 900hp engine and block the air flow so it only makes 550hp. Now put it on the race track where you have other cars in front of you and you really can't get air flow to the engine. This is why the leader always runs away or just has to put duty air on the car behind them. The guy out front has better air flow and can put down the power. The guy behind is down on power. I realize it's not the only thing going on here but it definitely plays a part.

Ever since NASCAR came back from the covid break, it just hasn't felt the same to me. I became a fan in 2012, and its changed a lot since then. Most of the drivers that were racing then have retired, and Ive steadily lost interest in the sport because of this. I didn't lose a ton of interest each year, very little if im being honest, but this year ive really been losing interest because of a lot of things: 3 drivers dominating, the aero package sucks, drivers that i grew up with don't race anymore, and a culture change as a whole in the sport. But I think the thing that really sent me over the edge the most this year was the 2021 schedule. I know a lot of people like it, but it's such a departure from the NASCAR i knew back in 2012 i just can't get behind it. And that's not the only thing. It's just felt like every race has been the same this year. Hamlin and Harvick and some occasional other guy coming along and winning. There's also so much controversy this year, talladega fall specifically, and that was quite possibly the worst race I've ever seen. It's just so plain at this point.

Why can’t we try balancing the hp and downforce or is that not possible?

Always liked your perspective. Not caring is worse than being angry. I love NASCAR, but they've asked the wrong questions over the years. And I will say this until I am underground. They chased excitement, and lost authenticity. And the root of it is the GWC

Same, I was and still a bit of a fan of NASCAR now since I was around 4-5, my favorite NASCAR driver was Dale Jr, I used to go scouring through the internet to find rare blank backmarker team diecasts and root for the driver -5 laps down most races to win at Talladega and Daytona, now I'm searching the web for sim seats with my current interests volatility going up and down with every bad news story that comes from the real world and NASCAR and sometimes it seems like it's not either the main focus or not involved with it enough... it's a part of life which we repress my friend.

At this point, I could give two shits what NASCAR does If NASCAR does a shit ton of high downforce so what If NASCAR does restrictor plates at every track so what If NASCAR becomes a fucking open wheel series so what All I want to see is good racing without dirty air. As long as the races are actually entertaining and keep me hooked even though my driver is a washed up piece of garbage, I’ll be happy.

Auto Racing has been apart of my life for as long as I could remember. 2004 was the beginning of the end of NASCAR & it's steadily gotten worse every, single, year. They've tried to ruin the Truck Series, their best series, for years, & are just about there. Xfinity has been dead in the water for years & nothing will fix it. Even with promises of positive change, negatives always take over tenfold. Other motorsports have been adversely affected, especially the NHRA. No less than 3 times I've considered retirement from NASCAR & this community. 2015 because 2015. 2018 because of this community. Now this year because of both, & now my health is being affected by that & factors outside of here. Heck I've been more focused on Pokémon & Game Shows than I have Auto Racing over the past few years. I want to have hope for 2022 & the future, but then again... NASCAR is what made me a pessimist for many years. I have more hope for the XFL in 2022 & then I do Auto Racing, & NASCAR specifically. Heck I have more hope for the SRX series in 2021 then I do any other motorsport. If NASCAR F's up badly the next 2 years, I *will* be done. Heck I may done even sooner honestly... NASCAR as a whole is just... trash.

High Downforce is the driver equivalent of Kyle Busch.
@DepravedCoTApologist4 жыл бұрын
No, because Kyle is a top 10 driver all-time (don't @ me), that's a terrible comparison. If This package was a driver, it would be Ryan Newman

X-3 car link as discussed below: www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/comments/47su17/photos_of_nascars_x3_test_car_possible_2017_car/ Some of this is on fans who begged Nascar to use this pakcage after they tried it at the all star race a couple of years ago. But at the end of the day whether the leader wins by 7 seconds on the old package, or you cant pass with the new, aero is the common denominator. Nascar built a car in 2016 with limited aero and even a front bumper that allowed air under the car and it was called the X-3. Appears similar to the next gen and hopefully no side force. Here is another link talking about the X-3 car and how it eliminated side force. Also the reason it could not be implemented on the Gen6 car. Scroll half way down the page to X-3 a new hope. chairgatin.com/racing/the-major-issues-with-nascars-current-car-model/

Sorry for the spams but I don't think the gen 6 was a failure, I think it's the packages. Years like 2016 and ESPECIALLY 2014 had great packages and they were gen 6.
@rudyk55184 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and NASCAR just played around too much with the package mainly after 2014, which was completely unnecessary considering the great racing of 2014. F1 has the same problem. In F1, they had a great racing package in 2014, but nowadays, dirty air and engine temps are king. 2022 is going to be a HUGE year for both NASCAR and F1
@DanielNuteson4 жыл бұрын
@@rudyk5518 Yes. I hope that NASCAR and F1 get good cars and packages for 2022, You can't pass with 550HP and in f1 without DRS.

Best option would be how much we can make the cars stable in turbulent air behind the others, being able to drive through the turbulence while staying stable would make for great racing, how we could do that idk
