I could be wrong, but it seems like my sea hare eats bryopsis? Could be just hit or miss when it comes to using an animal to remove algae.

HEADS UP!!!The fuzzy algae @ 8:21 under the "day 0" will be your next issue because its not effected by this this treatment and will take off like mad but causes less issues to corals compared to Bryopsis, the worst algae I've ever dealt with in 10 yrs. I just dealt with this in my 550. Here is the kicker likely either a film algae or hair algae will flare up. So immediately figure out a major P04 management and No3 management plan for the long term because you got problems with both when you have algae taking over. I use a sulphur de-nitrator and I dose Lanthium each day about 1 ml to combat both. In 20-30 days the byropsis will be gone and the next algae will begin taking over and need attention. I'm at month 6 and not algae free but I'm manageable. I also cut feeding down and main lights back a good bit as well. I'll probably have to change CUC to deal with the fuzzy stuff but it sucks out easy. My bryopsis never came back. and i never did a WC to remove it nothing died at all and i was very attentive to my parameters which seemed not to change. I'd consider my self an expert level reefer and do your research on how to implement the two methods I mentioned but they work very well and are very low effort n cost and manage p04 n n03 specifically and individually Vs "GFO" and "No other way to effect n03 but a WC schedule". good luck. PS check out AQUA CHAR!!! I love it and use it on all my tanks was just introduced this past year. Mechanical and effective biological media.

Did it eventually kill the bubble algae? I threw in the 7000 in a 100 gallon tank to try and kill the bubble algae

i have bryopsis in my macroalgae display tank. Covers most of the macroalgae. Can u suggest a way for me to eradicate bryosis without killing my macros?

Better if you use a bottle, put a little bit of tank water and medicine, shake bottle and done in 10 secs.

Fluconazole worked a treat for me. Just not the one meant for aquariums. I got stuff from a vet. I tried bryopsis buster and it wiped out my sps coral. Couple hundred dollars gone.
@RealReefingTV4 жыл бұрын
Yikes, I haven't heard of that one but what led me to use flux rx is all of the reviews online that said that it didn't affect their corals.

Thanks for the video. You think fluc kills caulerpa? My frag tank is caulerpa infested from a rock I put in.

Nutrient export, algae reactor. In the sump it will work wonders.
@KielthalinTV4 жыл бұрын
Definitely a nutrient issue, either feeding too much, bad water source, or just bad maintenance in general. Could be a number of other things. I would ditch the frag tank and make it a refugium and grow chaeto algae in there for a while until all the nutrients get pulled out. Let the tank stabilizes a bit more.
