At around 40:00 there's a very nasty comment by the editor of Brides magazine, saying that Camilla chose Diana's wedding dress because it was the ugliest dress she could find. That editor I'm sure, if she knows anything at all about wedding dresses, knows the real story behind Diana's wedding dress. It all began when David and Elizabeth Emanuel, two fashion designers just out of college, sent a pink blouse to British Vogue to be worn for their 'emerging beauties' look. They didnt know it then, but Diana was destined to wear the blouse. She had just become engaged to Charles. As fate would have it, she liked the blouse so much she asked who the designers were and made an appointment to see them. This was 1981, when frills and flounces and Big looks were in. Diana and the Emanuels had huge fun designing the dress. Diana at that time liked frills and flounces and between them they decided to go all out and create a dramatic look. Diana always had a naughty sense of humour and a great sense of fun, so it was her decision to have an extra long train and veil. The only unfortunate aspect of the dress was that it creased, but most photos disguise that. Diana's makeup was flawless, and her tiara was from the Spencer collection of jewellery, her family's jewellery. As we saw later on Diana's fashion sense changed and became much more streamlined and sophisticated. I'm sure had she been older she would have chosen a different look, but in 1981 she was only 20 years old. The Emanuels were also very young, so they went with the most "princessy" dress they could dream up. It certainly is unique, and suited that huge church, St Paul's, and that huge occasion. I will never forget that day. No smartphones, so someone brought a tv into the office. We all crowded round and watched the wedding. For the sake of her boys and their children I wish she was still with us, but she really was like Marilyn Monroe, a candle in the wind. RIP Princess Diana♡

Thank you for refuting that dreadful statement by that editor. It was so false and made me so angry. It could have been easily fact checked by the producers, but perhaps there was an agenda involved. It was purely the combination of a very youthful bride, young designers who had no Royal experience, and who said that there was no advice from the Palace, and combine that with the prevailing fashion of the time - and that's what happened.

Fashion tips from a lady with a grease lightening quiff, oh the irony. May I just add that Diana did have a fashion team, but hardly nobody, if any, spoke out. I've still got newspapers, books, a dress up diana doll, plate, mug and odd bits of merch from when she got married, the engagement, and a few pics when she visited the city i live in. Prince Charles actually has a house 40mins away, and 1 of the old nannies to the boys has a family estate approx 15-20mins away. We were lucky to have the queen and prince philip visit during the jubilee too, and william came to our cathedral couple weeks ago. Diana will always be my favourite, bless her.

I have vivid childhood memories of looking up to Diana, my dearly-departed Father taking me to the Library where I checked out books about Diana, and watching the myriad 90s television 📺 programs about her before she died. I remember not long after her and now King Charles had just welcomes Wills into the world, I checked out a brand new book :"Diana, a celebration" a big glossy book with fairytale pictures. Secret: I was poor and a bit dim, so I held onto that book for 25 years, eventually returned it. I had checked it out before computers were used to keep track. My Bad.

She was treated very badly. She was young and in love….and they USED her. Some of the things they do in the name of “royalty” were/are pretty sad.” She tried to expose that horrible abuse and they stripped her of her title and caused her to have a break down. She suffered horribly. I do not like the way they punish those who do not go exactly as the Queen/King thinks they should or they are “thrown away and banished from the family.” Harry has tried to do what his mother did…..and they are turned on. Ive noticed Camilla has had MANY facelifts to bring her UP TO PAR (LOL) to make her look better for this time now that Charles is King. Im glad he will have some time as King but he steps down to give the crown to William. Ive seen one of the coins that are soon to be released. It will be so strange to have Royalty after all this time, facing the opposite direction (if there are people out there that dont have an inkling that each time we have another Royal King/Queen, they then face the opposite way - coinage or stamps etc)! Camilla and Charles were in love long before poor Diana was brought into the picture. As Charles tells it, they only started having an affair once his marriage to Diana was "irretrievably broken." Since their acceptance by the RF and subsequent marriage, Camilla endeared herself to the Queen and open-minded British people by her good works. You seem to have a grudge against her that doesn't allow you to appreciate anything about her. What she has shown throughout her life is that she's a good person who cares a lot about others and works hard to do her part in making the world a better place. In that, she's very like Diana. The late Queen thought very highly of Camilla, to the point of stating specifically that she wanted Camilla to be given the title of Queen. Camilla is good enough for Charles to love and for the late Queen to respect and doesn't need your approval.
