I am so happy! I was dreading the topic of gender as I was expecting it would be a similar mess to french or german. I'm so glad it makes so much more sense in russian. These courses (so far) are turning out to be easier than I was expecting them to be (and more fun!). Russian sounded so complicated to me when I didn't understand any of it. I started learning russian purely as a challenge to myself and was half expecting to give up before even mastering the alphabet. After these 4 courses my mindset has completely changed to "Wow, I'm pretty sure I can actually do this!" and my motivation could not be higher. You're a very talented teacher Daria! Thank you for helping me achieve this self-confidence in my abilities!

@Alynn Yzy I'm Chinese too. I feel like it is easier to learn Russian if you know both English and Chinese. It seems that the Russian Alphabet (Cyrillic right?) have a lot in common with the Chinese ones. And a lot of the words seem to be sort of derivatives from English. I'm not sure. Am I right?

Правильный русский язык создан из смеси новгородского и владимирского диалектов,где безударные О и Е произносятся чётко как о и Е,но кратко и шипящие не смягчаются.ваш примере с муЩиной-пример Московской-вятского произношения,как и доЖЖЬ,улиСа-низкопробный московский слэнг.посмотрите как говорят на высоком русском жители городов Сибири и Сееверо-Заппада России! I love your lessons and your sense of humour which appears mildly self deprecating but confidence and authority underlies the lessons. It's the first time i've learned another language and am able to take it in with relative ease. That is a first for me learning anything since high school. Thankyou

This is quite interesting and tricky! My first language is portuguese and in it we don't have neuter nouns, every object is either m or f. But some of them are the other way around. Like for example "table" and "factory" are always feminine in portuguese, whereas "winter", "car" and "book" are always masculine! Thank you very much for the lessons, btw! I'm loving learning russian!
