Do people talk about the peace of being single though? 😮💨 I bumped into an old high school friend and she tells me she works half day because it's enough money for HER, no school fees. She picked up a take away for supper and just standing next to her you feel her peace... not a single negative word about men, or life in general.

What a peaceful space to be in.I'ts so sad to see how the society frowns against choosing to be single or without a child in your 30ies. Do I get lonely? Yes! Do I enjoy my peace? Yes

I have 2 children BUT absolutely know in my heart that I don't want to marry or "settle down." I always knew and it helped me choose myself in every relationship. I absolutely cherish that peace. So the childless and single women - keep protecting that peace 👏👏 I would never judge

I became comfortable with being single the day I chose to be celibate. I removed the sexual attraction, the affection ( cuddles, isfuba.)etc.. and started to shift my focus on character,personality and morals etc… Yhooo, the list of men I was talking to because it’s nice getting a good morning text etc drastically depreciated. I found no value even in keeping some as “ friends”. The heart is very deceitful shame. And ever since then; I don’t know what Loneliness is. Because I’m more focused on what I want.

First of all, you’re very classy. Second of all, this was so wholesome. I’m in my early 40s, divorced with 2 kids. I’m in a committed relationship now, but the seven years I spent being single were some of the best! You have to be at peace with yourself before you ever invite someone in. Society talks, but they don’t really care. Do you

Recently single and gaining such perspective. I love this chat. I became a single mom as I entered my 30s, imma tell you it taught me so much, about myself and the world we live in including how women expect certain things of each other, it’s not always the other gender’s toxicity. Aaagh so many thoughts on this topic and thank you thank you for tackling it. My take away is you affirming that this small part of life doesn’t define a woman’s worth or value. This I want to impart on my kids as well.💕

It does mostly boil down to luck,then you both have to be willing to work at it so that it lasts and is a happy, healthy situation. Kat in a realistic world, it's not all people that will find the real thing, be in a good enough, healthy relationship /marriage, people will get married, but a huge number of them are extremely unhappy& miserable
@nombuyiselomanala25192 ай бұрын
Worse part is that society is aware of all of these facts, even the fact of kids, ba tseba that it's firstly not all people who want kids, not all people that will be afforded that ability even if they want but we are still so super wierd to people because of patriarchy and brain washing, kore we know but Ai, Culture is the weapon they use. I thought culture is something that changes with generations, especially when we learn and realize the errors in those past cultural norms, we refuse to transform and evolve
@leratomaleke6701Ай бұрын
I think its very important for one to be more comfortable with themselves first , because I feel we find loneliness so unbearable because we are not comfortable with our own space we rather be miserable in a relationship or friendship that's toxic and not bring any value to ourlifes ,being alone can be horrible but atleast you have the peace that noone can take away from you ❤

I wish people understood the peace that comes with being single and one’s solitude… 🙌🏾 I find that people judge you negatively when you are single and happy, and the conversations always try to put you in a negative light, and you are right about the “what’s wrong with you question” I agree with not settling, being older and understanding yourself and just doing you is heaven. Also, not entertaining the bare minimum = priceless ❤

Trust me , men get asked WHY would you choose to be single too. I personally think it's even worse for men, being single immidiately signify "you dont have game" or "there is something wrong with you". Ladies are the ones who vet and approve a relationship so being a single lady can be viewwed as you being choosy or "knowing your worth". For men it's purely "yintoni ingxaki kuwe"...."what's wrong with you?"

It doesn’t make to have this conversation without taking into account why is biologically wired into you as well. I think the question angers you because there is a little voice inside you telling you that you actually shouldn’t be single at this age. You don’t really look like someone who cares about people’s opinions. Most of these pressures also comes with within but it looks like you ain’t aware of that. And lastly dating is not really designed for 30+ people, That’s my 2 cent.
@KatlehoMallela2 ай бұрын
I wonder why you seem to think it doesn't make sense to have such a conversation without addressing women believing that this is "biologically" wired into us? 🥹 Biological? Women feeling this way is something largely driven by social construct and a society that favours men over women. So your comment is actually dripping in misogyny and patriarchy. One thing you have gotten right though, is Idont care what peoples opinions of me are, especially when it comes to my personal life, so it would be ironic to think that you think that question would anger me,lol. But thanks for your 2 cents.
