George, if you've never heard of the Korneff Amplified Instrument Processor, I can't recommend it enough. But out of the left field, two plugins have really changed what I do to (especially low tuned) guitar tones. Dragon Fire from Denise Audio, and Bassmint from Unfiltered Audio. The Dragon Fire is essentially a compressor with a Pultec style push-pull eq, and it does AMAZING things to low-end consistency. The Bassmint is very interesting for adding a controlled body after the Dragon Fire, but perhaps the most usable thing in it is the "clarity" knob. It is somewhere between a dynamic EQ and an exciter of sorts from what I can tell, but it does wonders for bringing out the bite and presence of super-low stuff.

Awesome video George, thank you so much. That's not the first time I see a producer using Fatso when dialing the tone. Could you explain a little more the purpose of using compression? What do you listen for? Is it for tightening the tone? Adding saturation? I always find my tone are woofy in the low mids, but when I eq it or tame it with a multi band it becomes thin very quickly. If you do more content like this, a quick A/B (draft tone (in this case João tone) - final tone) at the end would be interesting IMO. Again, thanks 🙏

Hi George, how do you handle the latency between recorded reamped sound and DI, reamped track should be a little late compared to di's? you should try St.Rock React:ir it supports IR length up to 190ms and I think Suhr cuts it to 20ms internaly and St.Rock React:ir is cheaper and has a lot of features.

- I put a sine wave click at the beginning of the project di and align after - I’ve seen the st rock. Maybe if someone I know has one I will borrow it but I’m happy with the suhr for now :)
