Madara had almost no chakra left, couldn't move, and would have been sealed if it weren't for Rinne Rebirth. Keep in mind too, Orochimaru didn't reanimate Hashirama at full power because Orochimaru knew that he couldn't control Hashirama otherwise. Because he wasn't at full power, he couldn't even use his strongest jutsu, Shinsu Senju.

Shown when madara never even knew about that giant wood golem jutsu until hashirama just used it making Madara see it for the first in his life, when Madara cheated by stealing his brothers eyes and brought the 9 tails into their battle to kill hashirama yet hashirama was still too much for him even though he held back. They were only both exhausted because hashirama was dragging out the battle to talk to Madara to reform him as shown, they're ninjas, clones were also always a thing and Madara went up against that same clone jutsu many times it's not the first. Madara is also a ninja that uses cheap tricks like shadow clones, limbo clones, steal and control a tailed beast and coat it in susano'o armor etc but okay. His Rinnegan wasn't useful until he got his real eyes (I know he absorbed some jutsus but none of it was really necessary, most of his Rinnegan uses pre Rinne Tensei happened due to him not trying and relying on his Rinnegan instead. Also the fact that Hashirama was able to regenrate as an Edo Tensei is not relevant, every time he needed to regenerate was (again) due to him not being serious and going all out.
