A smart architect and smart open minded town hall makes a difference for centuries. In my hometown members of municipal council (AD 1887) decided not to sell rampart around the city walls (as it happened all over the Europe). Today we have a complete green passageway park through the city. We are all grateful every single day.

Bright thinking, and the persistence to get through all those layers of bureaucracy. Respect.

This is what is possible, if you give space to nature instead of cars. America should've listened to this man!

It was because of Robert Moses and his obsession with cars and building highways that led to the urban decay of New York City.

Sorry, but the Central Park in New York is just a tiny park against the Englischer Garten in Munich (Germany) and the Boi de Boulogne in Paris (France).

Built to be a space where rich and poor can both experience nature, but ends up adding value to the surrounding area, pricing out the poor so only the rich remain. This only works if the majority of people own their property, not rent it, which isn’t true with most of the example cities given in this lecture.

so i ave a question, to whether we would create cities nature, nature resistant,.. we live in a changing and living world and were supposed to adapt not the other way around,.. why do people still think controversial to our natural environment?,..

PARK OR LAWN?? Millions of $$ and deploy imported grass where kids can't play and less trees with swimming pools. Liked the part where NATURE TOOKOVER THE TRACK but there even human community intervened and imposed it's artificial designing. Build a native self sustainable landscape with trees, plants, wetlands rather a piece of Disney land.
