Ron, I would like to make a correction for the hunting rifle, its actually based off a winchester model 70 not a mauser like you said , it should be put into perfect tier since it is very accurate to the real model 70 (including paciencia) also you mentioned that in fallout 3 the gun was chambered in .32 which is unusual but they did exist in rare quantities. (P.S. sorry for nerding out, im Gun Nut rank 4 in real life lol)

It's extra funny cause the Model 70 is an improvement of the Model 54, which itself is based on the Gewehr 98. So both are kinda right.

@@RobertEdwinHouse. When looking at most modern bolt action rifles, you don't have to go far to find Paul Mauser's name. Would have been better if they made the hunting rifle in FNV a sporterized '03 Springfield rifle, cause those were actual Mauser rifles, so much so that we got sued over it. Also used to be very common as hunting rifles, cause they were dirt cheap.

Problem is that the in-game .32-caliber round is the same round used in the early-game revolvers. Said round is very much not suited to rifle use.

Oh yes I figured gun in Fallout New Vegas is the Spy revolver from Team Fortress 2.

The AER-9 looks fairly good, and it is incidentally the only weapon that was retained and not completely --redesigned-- butchered in Fallout 4. I also like the transparent glass tube as the barrel of Plasma Rifle, though the weapon as a whole is ugly, and the Purple Plasma Rifle in the concept art looked infinitely better.

Looking back at some of the designs that date back to Fallout 1 is interesting. This was when law enforcement was questioning the effectiveness of 9mm and lighter calibers and for a while it felt like 10 mm might become a common caliber, a fact reflected in games of the era. There was a lot of guessing about what guns might be popular in the years to come in Fallout 1 and while it's pretty darn wrong, it's an interesting look back to an era before red dots, better 9 mm hollow points, and semi-automatic 5.56 mm rifles became very common place.

Sharps 45-70 was technically a lever action and had peep ladder, Quigley down under, also Sweden, Finland or one of them I think had a bar with a pistol grip in WW1 or WW2 I believe

The rearpiece on the 12.7mm is almost certainly a cocking handle, like a ruger .22. I agree that it should have the Mauser magazine (and ideally be clip-fed) and that its animations are kind of wonky.

I want bolt action shotguns over pump action. Those are super fitting with the aesthetics (they were super popular in 50s-70s and there's still loads floating around cheap) and are exactly what people would make after 2077. Also can reuse animations from any bolt action rifle instead of needing its own.

Great video, love to see none of them hurt your eyes, I do have a few disagreements, most things I would just move up a tier, but the LMG and service rifle would be perfect imo, they don’t really have any flaws, the LMG just has jank sights for the most part but according to Sawyer that was a time constraint thing, I think a lot of the things you put in “has problems” really does work in the world that they’re in.

Colt revolvers have cylinders that rotate clockwise and S&W revolvers rotate counterclockwise. So depending on the manufacturer it is believable either way.

On police pistol i would remind that you can use doube action revolvers same way as single actions (aka cocking the hammer) tho with rate and situations of fallout you most likeky would want to just shoot as fast as you could when something is charging at you

I would like to see a video from you on the best weapon(s) of each and every ammo type. Like .308, .12.7mm, microfusion, etc. I can’t be the only one that avoids using multiple guns of the same ammo and it can be tough to decide, especially among the aforementioned ammo while also keeping a balance of weapons for damage and dps or all situations in general.

Like why bring along This Machine when you already have the Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle that has all around better stats (besides the obvious lack of a scope for close quarters). The La Longue Carabine from what I looked up uses a similar model to Lincoln’s Rifle even to the reloading animation, I thought it was the same animation to the BB guns since you load them in like that as well but I don’t think it would have problems if (and this is a big if) the ammo it uses were not the usual .357 but the same ammo Lincoln’s Rifle uses or the bulk ammo to offset its larger ammo cap. and scope addition But either way, that’s one detail I would politely disagree mainly on the basis that I’m pretty bias to love practically the whole Cowboy perk weapons given how I enjoy western movies so the weapons feel good when used….. even the poopy ones.

Game designers don't understand that barrel length=powder charge capacity. The powder(nitrocelluose) wouldn't add to the round. Just make a flashbank stick, lol. 🤔, but probably AE.

Hello dude with an autistic obsession with firearms here to leave some comments lol The marksman carbine has a 7.62x39 mag in it, kinda bothers me The service rifle is correct, the original design had wood furniture and used 20 round mags. And it's shown with a 20 round mag. This and the assault carbine do not have the correct charging animation though (the assault carbine even has the correct charging handle on the model, just isn't used) Before the NFA put an extra tax on short barrel shotguns there were shotgun pistol things like the sawed off The lever action shotgun...come on man you haven't seen the terminator movies lol The 45 smg does have the cut for drums so it makes sense you can use them. The original design didn't have a stock and used the drums, was designed to be a trench sweeper for WWI but wasn't finished in time. The front end is a US military pattern and the military did end up removing the cut for the drums to make them cheaper to produce though. Argentina used a 9mm version of the grease gun for a while but i think i can safely say that isn't what they were going for lol While i 100% agree with you that the 12.7 pistol looks stupid af, the cocking piece on the back isn't really that abstract, especially with the assumption being that is chambered for 50 AE. Semiauto pistols chambered in big magnum rounds like that usually have operating systems more like a rifle. Systems like that are also used on target pistols so the sights won't be moving back and forth when you're shooting ...this is getting too long now so I'll stop😂
