The one advantage Protools has with quantizing audio is you can set a percentage. I wish Reaper had this function with audio. I think you can do it with midi, but not audio. In Protools I could just set warp markers in elastic audio and quantize 20% or 30% etc. It was a great way to tighten up a bass guitar a bit without making it sound robotic. …maybe reaper will add it in a future release.🙏🏼

Without strength % it's no like BD. The whole point of BD is that it doesn't require grid lock quantization. Also, you can easily conform grid to beat markers, making the grid locked to the edited drums.

Hi, if I have 4 different mono tracks and want to have track 1 and 2 work on the left ear and track 3 and 4 work on the right ear then make one stereo track from all 4 mono tracks how do I do that in Reaper, including rendering the stereo track to mp3 at the end?
@TheHomeMusicMaker2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! To do this, start by panning tracks 1 and 2 to the left using the panning knob on each track (you can also find the panning settings by right-clicking the volume fader on each track). Next, pan tracks 3 and 4 to the right using the panning knobs on these tracks. Now that your 4 tracks are panned where you want them, you can render all 4 tracks into one stereo track by putting all of the tracks under a BUSS track and rendering the BUSS track by right-clicking the BUSS track and selecting 'Render/freeze tracks'>'Render tracks to stereo stem tracks.' Once you do this, any tracks that belong to that BUSS track (the 4 tracks you just placed under it) will be rendered into one stereo stem track that will also include any panning you have done. If you want to then render this track out of REAPER into an mp3 file, highlight the stereo track you just rendered by clicking/marqueeing it, click 'File'>'Render,' and select 'Selected media items' for your 'Source.' Now when you press render, only the select stereo track will render out of REAPER into an mp3 file. Hope this helps. Cheers!

@@TheHomeMusicMaker I do not know what a BUSS track is. Would you mind just making a video? I know I'm not the only one who wants to see that kind of thing and there are hardly any videos on youtube that specifically address this. While your're explaining this differentiating also how many types of rendering approaches exist in Reaper would be also very helpful because "Render tracks to stereo stem tracks. does not mean much to me...what does "stereo stem" even mean?

@@encapsulatio Yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming. Leave it with us and we'll see what we can do.

It would have been more helpful if you had described what beat detective is and what it does.
