I asked him on the URM page and he replied. You have to make a custom action to do this. Here's are the action's he used and named the custom action "dual mono to interleaved stereo": SWS: select one track(s) with selected item(s) Xenakios/SWS: select first of selected tracks Xenakios/SWS: implode items to takes and pan symmetrically Item: glue items Track: go to next track Track: remove tracks Xenakios/SWS: rename takes and source files... Track:Go to previous track Xenakios/SWS: rename selected tracks You're going to have to download the SWS extensions if you do not have them already to complete this custom action.

@Robin Leijon I see you quantize everything 100% on the grid. Does Reaper allow you to choose the "strength" of the quantize (0-100%) when quantizing audio items? I think is vital to maintain a "human feeling"...

How do I turn two tracks into one stereo track? Like at 1.40
@robinleijon6 жыл бұрын
What I use is a custom script that I'll be showing in a later video. But to get a stereo track out of two mono tracks you can bus them and pan them and then print the bus track to a stereo track! Hope it'll work for you!

"It needs just a little tightening up." *slices up entire performance and makes it sound like a computer played it* Man. Imagine if all those amazing rock records from the 70's were quantized. Yikes. I'll take a little imperfection in performance. Nice to know a human is still behind the instrument.
@rij23926 жыл бұрын
Not a very good teacher , you do everything too fast for a beginner/intermediate to understand. Thanks for taking your time do it anyways.
@RobbDizzl6 жыл бұрын
Why bother recording a drummer when you're quantizing the whole performance to the grid? I know this is mostly meant as a DAW/editing tutorial but still.
@URMAcademy6 жыл бұрын
Whether you choose to edit things this tightly or not is up to you. We are not trying to tell you how to make your music, the goal of this video is just to show you how to use the tools at your disposal, so that if you ever need to use them, you have a full understanding.

@bukowskimoho6 жыл бұрын
half true, if the kit is well played and poor recorded or with no matching kit for the sound you are looking for, it will be worst.
@mattvdh6 жыл бұрын
You must be new or something. People have been quantizing drums forever. It doesn't take a bad performance and magically make it good somehow. The drummer has to be in the 95-99% percentile region on the metronome accuracy for quantizing to work properly. If the performance is weak and shaky to begin with then the quantizing feature will make it 10x worse.
@MyFeltMusic4 жыл бұрын
This wasn’t helpful considering you didn’t tell us what specific action you have linked to the Q key. 👎🏾
@IntoTheForest6 жыл бұрын
Or, maybe you could push the drummer to just play better so you don’t have to quantize everything.... this is why a lot of modern music sounds so sterile. It’s all fixed by a computer..... What ever happened to real musicianship?
@URMAcademy6 жыл бұрын
It's your music. You should produce it however you want. If you don't want to edit your drums, literally nobody is suggesting that you do otherwise. This is just a video explaining how to do a thing... whether you choose to do that thing or not in your music is up to you. Let everybody make their music their own way, ya know? Life's too short to get bent out of shape about drum editing my man!
