Sad thing is, I used to volunteer at an animal shelter, specifically where they kept the cats. From my experience, the black cats were typically the sweetest, most well-behaved of the bunch yet no one rarely ever wanted one. This really hits hard for me.

What a horrible way to moisturize my eyeballs. Also black cats are wonderful - I've always had at least one for most of my life. This one hit me even harder when seeing the disabled mom cat. I recently took in a crippled duck that broke my heart. She's a good duck but somehow her leg/foot got messed up really badly so she can't walk as well as the other two that came with her.

I have a rescued black cat myself, he’s the sweetest cat I’ve ever met (even sweeter then my purebred white rag doll) he had been in the shelter for months because no one wanted him. Now he’s happily laying on the rug in our living room soaking in the sun. I also volunteered at the RSPCA (an Australian rescue place) and most of the cats we got where black, and unless they were kittens they wouldn’t get adopted, the majority of the cats in the rescue were black because of this. The dogs to, not black but particular breeds. I met the sweetest staffie while I was there, if I didn’t already have 2 dogs I would have taken her home, she was by far the sweetest most gentle dog they had. She still wasn’t adopted when I left. Yet the dashund that tried to bite me got adopted in a day.

I may not have a black cat myself, but as a father of two now deceased cats and currently a father of a new one, this... Hits deep. My two cats were the sweetest things in the world. The first one, "Mancha", which translates to "Stain" (because his white fur had black spots and his tail was stripped in black and white) was the oldest. He mostly leaned on the couch and wasn't the more caring kind, but still remained around. The second one, "Nero" was this adorable brown-colored and white colored on the belly and leg internals, he... Well, i wanted a cat myself, and one day my dad and mom found him on the street right outside home. They took him in, he was a bit scared, but got used to the house quite quickly. He was very caring and demanded attention, mostly around me. He always wanted to sleep by my side, meowing whenever i was close, just.. cute. Years passed, they grew older... And... At the end of ~2018 (i forgot the exact year/date), Mancha died close to christmas. He was found laying down just inside the garage (here in Brazil, garages are not closed, they have metal bars and all, but you can mostly see the whole thing.), looking at the street. Before all that, he wasn't eating much, losing weight day by day, like he just gave up. Nero was a similar situation, but didn't take very long after, and he was much younger than Mancha. He stopped eating, we tried to take him to a veterinarian, but we didn't have the money for the treatment, so we.. took him home and took care of him until his lsst breath. Sadly we couldn't let him stay close to me or any of us, because of the smell he had after not moving for the last days. It was just after new year's eve. Writing this down, i keep thinking on how they are right now... Do they.. miss us? I can't bring myself to think too much, it still drives me emotional. The new cat we have right now is cute, playful and all, but it doesn't.. fill the void in my heart, since it doesn't interact much with me. I just hope that in the afterlife i may be able to meet my previous cats, I miss them so much...

I really hope Death is as nice as he is in this. This is so sad. Black cats are misunderstood. They aren't bad luck. I had one when I was little, but we moved and asked my aunt to take care of her while in the moving process. She let her go on the first day, and she never came back. I hope she found a good home. Rest in peace, we miss you.

Awww this is so sad but sweet. Reminds me of my cats. When i was young i had kitten named One Eye who i loved very much. (I wasn't very creative) Seeing him after school always put a smile on my face. When my mom and I moved back in with my dad during my last year of highschool i befriended a grey cat that I named Scatterbug due to how she would scatter away at first. She was very sweet and a bit of an emo cat. I was so sad when she passed away of old age earlier this year. I still have a black cat named Cuddles who i adopted 2 years ago when he was just about 2 weeks old. He can be really cuddly and sweet or an absolute wild child. I havent seen him a while so i hope he's alright. My neighbor thinks he found a lady friend heh

When I was a kid, I remember going to the shelter with my family, to look for a new cat after our old one took an unfortunate fall. We found a juvenile black cat, just out of kittenhood, and I liked him right off. He just... I don't know, he seemed like a perfect fit. We adopted him after our second visit, which was good for him because my sister had fallen in love with a kitten in the showroom. We had him for the next decade and a half. We had to euthanize him after they found a tumor in his stomach the size of a golf ball, but my parents and I, to prepare for that, recalled his life with us. It took over an hour before the stories ceased. He was a good kitty.

Gonna give my sweet black kitty Bart an extra big hug tonight. My bestie found him and his tuxedo brother abandoned in a box when they were still too young to be away from their mom. I kept them because they’d already been through so much, I could bear to see them separated, and I knew that even if someone said they would take both, they’d probably get rid of the black one. 3 years later, he’s the biggest cuddly love-bug. Im not gonna lie before watching these comics, i used to hate the idea of death, thpught he was evil, you know the rest. But these comics have really turned around my view of death. He is just a kind soul himself trying to help others who dont understand whats going on or what to do. This is a personal story of mine. When my dog died, i thought it was the worst cause i didnt know what happened to his soul, and that he was taken too early. But watching these comics eases my mind hoping that the reaper that took him, is just as kind hearted as this one
