Thank you. I switched to reaper from studio one last week. And you plus 2 other main reaper channels help a lot. I don't think I've gotten an understanding of how a Daw works like i do now ever before. and there's infinite knowledge to be gained as well.

Yeah man... the more and more i'm learning new features n techniques bout reaper... the more m loving the daw.... great great feature for players... for a person like me i dont record a whole solo in one take... instead i record it a few licks at a time... till now i created a track n loaded guitar rig plugin n i duplicated that track for the takes... now i can take advantage of these modes to save more cpu power

Question. 🙋♂️ So, I record a lot using guitarless backing tracks where I play the guitar parts with and record. My issue I’ve been having for years now is that when recording, it always records my guitar AND the backing track to my armed track.. which makes it so hard to adjust levels for mastering because now, when I try to turn my recorded guitar part up, it also turns up the backing track that was also recorded! I want to be able to import a backing track, add another track that I can arm for my guitar and then when I record, it records ONLY my guitar to the armed track (totally isolated)… HOW do I do this!!??!!?? Thanks 🙏

Hello, I've moved my pc and since that happend i have a problem. Everytime i want to record/play in reaper it says : Stop recording or playback to view this page ( to view my audio device, which is a Scarlet 2i4). The cursor doesn't move. The song is just stuck. And also when I use Amplitube 3 as a standalone I can't get any sound effects out of my studio monitors anymore. Only the natural guitar sound. I Have no clue and can't find anything on the internet about these 2 things. Hope you can help

In an other video (volume stage or something like that), you tell us to record at level so that the input volume reach -18 db or peaking slightly above. Here -6 is fine ? What is good for the next parts of mixing ? Better to decrease the volume in the DAW, to crank up the interface input gain, the opposite ? By the way, thank you a lot for your vidéos, I swith since 5 days from cubase to reaper and you helped me a lot feeling comfortable with !
@ReapertvUk7 жыл бұрын
Nicolas Corad as long as your input into your DAW is - 18 to - 12 you're good to go. What it ends up at after applying FX is another thing. As long as your signal isn't clipping on the way in you're all good. 🤘😀

Don't know if this question is relevant but having a problem pressing record button and playing midi keyboard simultaneously. Is there a way to activate record button with keyboard? I do not have a transport panel on keyboard for short-cuts via action tab on Reaper. Trying to play in sync with recorded track but by the time I press record, it is too late to play keyboard. Hope I am making sense here. Thanks for any input on this.

You could use the metronome to count you in before recording. Right click the metronome button in Reaper and you'll have additional options. Set it to count in before recording and choose whether you want to keep the metronome running during recording or disabled and you'll get a count in before recording actually starts. Hope that helps 👍

Its easier to punch in audio on its own track then adjust and move to permanent track than using old school punch in.

I have a sound driver Focusrite 2i4, it is its driver, midi writes but there is no sound, the vocals when activating the recording pop up (cant T write recorging files doest directori exist)))) everything is set correctly, but there is no sound, I throw all the sound on the rapper MP3, put virtual synthesis, the same thing is clear that the record goes and there is no sound, which I do not right ....

If you watch other Reaper how to's and then come here its like a back rub to the brain. I still can't figure out how to get the other tracks in the same lane to have sound when you record over them. I see he can hear the takes he is recording over. The default setting does not let you hear them.

If you want to record your midi live then the methods in the video should work just fine. Just choose your midi device, VSTI, arm the track and start recording.
