Super useful video and great you took the time to create something so in depth based on a specific issue. I'm certainly going to be following your stuff from now on!

Okay got it. Thank you so very VERY much for taking the time to go through this with me. I knew there was something I was not doing correctly and I think I got it now. Also thanks for the personal touch there in the video answering me by name. Much appreciated. It will take me (due to weird work schedule) about a week to work this and make my learning curve mistakes as I practice but this is what I've been trying to acomplish now for a month. Again thank you so very much for such a fast reply and detailed AND easy to understand explanation and walk through. This deserves a great review on my website blog post so expect that as well. I'm absolutely delighted and grateful. Have a great week sir. Marty

Martin Weeks No problem man! I ended up having a bit of free time when I saw your comment, so everything worked out. Best of luck!

VikingGuitar checked you out on Google+ and added you to my circles. Thanks again so much. As I said I will be tinkering with this all this week. If I can get it to work I will create a master template for future projects and this will save me huge amounts of time editing and tweaking. Have a wonderful week sir.

VikingGuitar A couple of things. Still not able to do this sidechaining. Thought I'd done evAerything correctly and it may just be the DAW I'm using. I checked with "their" forum, and they keep contradicting themselves. First they say the DAW doesn't support side chaining, then they explain how to do it similiar to your explanation using a compressor that has side chain ability. (huh? Am I missing some important detail somewhere?) So I say _____ it and downloaded Reaper to try. But no sound. I've tried all the drivers listed and nothing. This driver stuff always throws me. On my current DAW when I click o n "devices" I have a choice of wave RT (which I use on it without any problems at all) Or ASIO which also works but I don't really care for it. or of course good old windows wave (yuck) So do I need to go to ASiO and download ASIO4All? Lastly, I've soured YT for instructional videos on Reaper, and they all seem to talk over my head and refer to software I'm not even using...is there a better tutorial you can recommend on setting up and using Reaper? I'm fed up with the constant problems of the other DAW. When it works it works real well...when it doesn't I lose hours of mixing time and have to start over. Thanks my friend...hope this isn't too long. Tried to direct contact you but me and Google just don't seem to get along real well.

Its awesome how much u learn us! Thanks for another great video. What i am missing is an awesome mastering tutorial. Maybe not going too deep into it, but at least the basics, which plugins to use and why. And how to crank up the volume and what is makeing the mix get louder. Maybe going trough what u have been using on your records or likely. Many thanks!

Deepeeper I get requests for this (and for generalized "How to Mix") videos frequently, and I'm afraid the subject material is a little more in-depth than I have time to do a video for right now. :-(

Alright, we cant do anything about that! =) But just to let u know (u already know) mixing/mastering is pretty much the only bit that is missing in your tutorials. If u manage to pull of a mix/master tut your reaper tutorials will be fullfiled and we got a stock on (basic) how to start recording all the way to producing a CD. Thanks Erik! =)
