When testing that plugin in REAPER 5, also found a non-documented feature of articulation, called "Dead Note" (A#4 on Ample Bass P II Lite keyboard = A#5 on REAPER MIDI-Editor Piano-Roll). That articulation not change sound output from Ample Bass P II Lite to any "X" (dead / left-muted) bass notes, but it works (maybe it's a secret feature), as a MIDI-control-note to change an alternation for notes with Velocity lower than 127, to change an alternation ("i,m" or "m,i") of classic fingerstyle bass playing simulation to different combinations. Any placed A#5 note on piano-roll in REAPER 5 (=A#4 on Ample Bass P II Lite Keyboard) changes current playing alternation of sequence of notes, changing alternation of note when A#5-note placed over it. Notes of velocity 127 called "Accents" in this plugin, that notes plays with sound similar to a "slap-bass", with constant alternation (Info about "Accent=Velocity 127" not found as documented in User Manual, but info about "Accent=Velocity 127" can be seen over "SUS" indication of plugin in left-bottom "ARTICULATIONS" area).

Unfortunately, single notes repeat don't work for me as Kenny shows. When I alternate between C# and D# keys to trigger the effect, the note cuts off when I transition from one to the other. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I can't find a way to make work as smooth as Kenny and it's a shame because its makes such a difference.

I really like the Free version but it does have limitations the full version is a way different beast and well worth the $$$. I love the way you presented this Kenny but then again you’re always brilliant IMHO. I do think if you want to get the best out of these instruments it really pays to set up Key Maps. Setting up key maps is simple (see Kenny on setting up key maps). In my opinion the best way to set up the key map is to do it as a text file whilst reading the basic manual. Once you have the key map applied save the instrument as an instrument template. Makes life a lot simpler really and you’ll get much more out of the instrument.

SI Bass by Cakewalk is a better instrument Ample seems to miss a lot of the notes on most of the bass MIDI tracks I use in my arrangements. You'd have to use ReaPitch with it, I suspect? SI Bass has a built-in pitch shifter for up to 1 Octave above & 1 Octave below. Plus tons o'presets & MIDI files to boot~!
@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP3 жыл бұрын
can it be used in REAPER?
@zendakk3 жыл бұрын
Reaper has an octave offset setting, try changing that. MIDI naming is a mess in general, a "C3" could be various different actual pitches in different DAWs or plugins. Or make sure your MIDI tracks have notes in the range of Ample Bass' range - the actual numeric names.
@zendakk3 жыл бұрын
@@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP SI Bass comes with Cakewalk but is a VSTi that can used elsewhere once CW is installed. It's not bad but IMO doesn't sound as natural as Ample.
